It's okay tennisfan16. You're a little slow sometimes, but the "mystery" person will help you out. She's a bit too fast.

Big meets are amazing. My Grand Am owners club does one every year. It's absoluetly huge.

The only thing is is that it requires a great deal of planning, cooperation, finances, and others.

Location is key. Hugely key.

The Tail of the Dragon is located in a rural area on the North Carolina-Tennesee border. However, what makes it a great location is that it is quite possibly the best curvy road in America. The main reason for going is that we get to use our cars for what they were intended.....driving! The local officials understand that performance driving there helps drive their economy and they do not usually bust people for spirited (not crazy) driving. We are not just attending this event to stand around and look at each other's cars. Also, there are a couple good resorts there that are accustomed to hosting large meets.

As for geographic location, I would say it is close enough to the center of the eastern half of the United States to make it a viable option for a large regional meet. tennisfan16 drove all the way from Oklahoma and plans on making the trip next year. sbigshot came western Louisiana, RITDR from Ohio, atruhondagrl from eastern Pennsylvania, Type X from NYC, Snaker from Delaware, and CivicWithNav from Maryland. It was truly more than just a Southern event. Sickyute from south Florida was going to make the trip but he found out at the last minute that he couldn't be there. Everyone had a great time and I believe most of this year's participants will try to make it again in 2007.

Tail of The Dragon is truly an event you must experience. I dont think any other location, other than a track event, can hold a candle to the Dragon.

MINI is hosting their annual meet in Las Vegas this coming March. It's expected to have an attendance exceeding 300 MINIs.

I'm trying. Believe me. I'm definitely trying. So can somebody please add a poll to this thread or should I just start a fresh thread and leave this one open to ideas? I have a couple of places in mind, but I need to call a couple of states next week to see if I can get information on where the best places to do this kinda thing would be.

So does everyone pretty much agree on a really large 8thcivic meet? Or should we just stick to the regionals?
