Im just seeing this right now, but If it ends up in Kansas, I may make the trip down from winnipeg. Ive got family and afew friends in kansas. Apparently its a one full day drive down there too.
That would cancel my proposed BC trip this year though. I wonder if the girlfriend would come with me or not. Time to start saving my pennies. |

Just curious but has everyone thought about doing large regional meets? And then caravaning somewhere? Like each region could do a large meet and then caravan to some event like the Tail of the Dragon meet, or Nopi or something? Everyone likes road trips. You could do it in the summer and pick some places along the way, like the Super Street Tour. Just make it a long weekend, like 3 or 4 days, that way everyone has a chance to drive, hang out, rest and then drive back.
Another alternative would be for the entire East Coast to do a meet, similar to the Dragon, the entire Midwest to do a meet and the entire West Coast to do a meet. And then we all caravan to a central location. I'd love to meet a lot of you guys and gals elsewhere in the country. |

Actually, I think I'm about to, just because I can't sleep. :) I'm thinking I should make another thread so it doesn't get lost here and if everyone agrees with it, talk to folks from different regions and then created a series of threads in each region for their regional meet. And we'll see how the results are. It's early enough that we can hopefully find a date that works for everyone and the more folks that come, the more that hopefully will be encouraged to come. Can't predict the weather though.

If this really goes down and Dawn isn't back, I want to be some place where we can take one really large picture and send it to her or something, just so she knows we're missing her and can't wait to have her back. And maybe we can put up a digital photo album or something, or make a calendar for 2008 webby can sell in the store with the pictures taken.

Were actually doing a west meet in Vegas in January...I can't go due to needing 3 weeks off in Sept., but it will be a good meet.
As far as having a huge meet. I think that would be great. IMHO it will need to be Middle USA as that is the most fair solution. Plus the drive would be cool anyway. We could all make it within 2 days of driving (10 hours a day tops mas or menos). There could be caravans from various areas to make the drive more fun. Just my .02 I will not be able to do this for about 1 year though myself due to the above stated reason.

I just got to thinking, I'm not really sure how to put this together with the entire US of A. I could say do a two-day thing on a Saturday and Sunday on maybe the last weekend of July or the first weekend of August. That's about the time everyone's out of school, most haven't started going back, it's away from the 4th of July holiday where people are going to be traveling, and it's hopefully not on anyone's anniversary. So now the only problem is getting together the regional meet. I think if there was perhaps a regional meet or something, maybe more people would really want to go, if they were caravaning. Or perhaps I could just organize it so there's no "regional meet" persay, but stops on a tour, if you will. So for example, I would start Day 1 in VT, headed towards say New Jersey. Someone from Maryland would start Day 1 and head towards New Jersey. We would meet in New Jersey and then move to the next pitstop on the "tour". That way we could pick people up and caravan together. Caravan's are so much fun. :)
EDIT: When I said "pick people up", I meant they join us at each stop along the way. Last edited by skittleslegend; 12-20-2006 at 03:37 AM. |
