Starting a business

So I've been talking it over with my parents and decided that I want to open my own business. The only trouble is, I don't know what I want to sell. Can u guys give me some suggestions of what will be the best choice.

Do some market research on your interests and what you know alot about. Then, you can play around with learning additional market niches.

Read some books on the subject.

What do you like? What are you good at? Opening a business simply to open a business rarely works. You'll want it to be something you're good at or like doing. Do you want to sell goods? Or do you want to offer services?

Based on your interests, what trends are you seeing in your area? What do you find in other areas of the state/country/world that you don't find in your town?

services make much more profit.. but its a lot harder to rely on other people to run the business (ex: go out of town for a month and still collect revenue)

And make sure you love it.. otherwise you'll dread it.. want to quit and get a regular job :] even if the money is good :/

How about a store called "we sell your stuff on ebay store"

J/K

Honestly if you're serious about opening a business you should already know what you want to do.

2 things. Sell a product that no one else has or improve on an already existing product.

Volk rims and give us 8thcivic.com members insane pricing on them!

Like whats been said above, you gotta either sell something you like or something that there is a market for.

IMO this is a good way to start a businees. First thing is to know what you want to sell or what serve. Then, you should find a company that sells/serves a similiar product and learn the rules of the trade from working at that company for several months to a year. Then when you go to start your business, you know how to run your business effeciently so you can make top profit.

Like everyone said, you should know what you like and what you want to do...don't just do something to say you do it...you should think about things that interest you...also like someone said above, talk to people who are in the business to get a general idea of how the business runs...

I am thinking about opening up my own business soon also. I am thinking about opening up a check cashing. There are lots of people around my way that get their checks cashed at these places...I know the area that I want to open my business so that it is centrally located. There is this one store that has always flopped every single time someone opened it up (chicken store)...I wanna change this place into a check cashing b/c this is a prime spot for it...good luck on whatever you decide to do
