united states port deal = selling to arab management
MILKMAN------- are you sleeping??? What the heck is going on man? Please explain to me how Bush thinks it is "ok, and we don't need to worry about the port security", when it would be run by arab management! Where is his head on this? Why not just give them all a key to the US and blow it up. Just end the anticipation now.
 |

Bush is making money on this deal or someone he knows. Why would you think Bush is being extremely passive on protecting the homeland. This is awful but at the same time... what can you do... all I can say is YAY for Presidential Term Limits...... and shake my head at this....

I'm going to keep my comments simple otherwise this would be a long reply... lol... I'll just say American ports should be owned, operated, secured and controled by American companies and American people! In this post 9/11 world we need to be in control of our own stuff. That's the simple comment.

I saw a clip of a press confrence last night that said Bush didn't even know about this deal until he heard about it on the news.

I think what he didn't know was that the company in the deal was being bought out by a UAE company. What makes him look silly is when he states "Americans don't need to worry about port security" or something to that effect. Dude, before you open your mouth check your facts. People are not all up in arms about this for no reason. Don't just tell us we shouldn't worry about it. Tell us why this is such a good idea.

It is important to remember a few things here. First we are not selling the port. The port and the docks are still owned by American companies. The deal is for opperation of the port.
Second, the company that currently opperates those ports is a foreign company. So Billary Clinton's big talk of block foreign port opperations would blow up because almost all of the ports are opperated by foreign companies. (Why you ask -- probably because we don't ship things to ourselves). Third, port security is done by the Coast Guard and US Customs. The port opperators, even if they were American companies, do not provide any security opperations. Also even Billary Clinton is backing off her strong stance against it. In two days she went from calling for "IMMEDIATE EMERGENCY LEGISLATION TO BLOCK FOREIGN COMPANIES FROM PORT OPPERATIONS," to something like oh we can wait 45 days. |
