Conceal Carry Permit (CHL)

Who has one and what do you carry? Myself, a Sig Sauer P239 but I'm starting to look at that new P2000sk from H&K.

I have one but I don't really carry. I have a S&W Model 66 .357 Mag in my glove box. When I go for night rides on my bike I carry a Glock 26 .9mm. Those H&K's are nice I just got the USP Compact Tactical .45 ....sweet.

My S&W's, Glock, & USP Compact Tactical

No, they do a background check, and take your finger prints. In Texas you have to attend an 8 hr class and pass a written test and shooting test, then submit all the paper work. If you pass the background check in 2 - 3 months your permit will come in the mail.
It's great for buying guns, no wait. And the cops treat you differently if you get pulled over, as you have to give them the CHL along with your DL. They know you arent a felon or you wouldnt have the CHL.

i didnt renew mine.

even i when had a valid one though, i never packed or loaded.

Seems like today you could get into the same amount of trouble if you shot someone in self-defense than you would if you just shot someone while fighting.

but i own a Biretta 92F

+1 i thought they'd never give me mine because our state has a limit on how many can be issued to civilians, after like 5 months they mailed me my CHL.

i forgot once i had my Biretta, and i didnt show my CHL to show to a officer when i got pulled over for speeding, and when he searched my car and found my 92F, i got cuffed and thrown into the back for like 45 minutes, while he ran my records.

here in canada we are lucky enough to own a bb gun, we need to jump through many hoops to even get a long barrel rifle let alone some of those toys i saw in this thread. I will be taking the class to get a permit to have one as my father wants me to take his .306 from him.

I,m just North of Dallas, the only thing that sucks is all the land is private property so I have to shoot at a Range. I'm from Montana where you could be on Nat. Forest in ten minutes from my house. No rules there just blast away & have fun.

There was just an incident a couple of days ago in Philadelphia where a 19 year old stuck a gun in a guy's back demanding money. the guy managed to turn around and fire 3 shots into the assailant killing him. The report said that no charges would be filed against the guy defending himself. My attitude is that the crook got what he deserved.
