#1 rule of defensive driving: don't put your insurance and registration papers in the glove box.

let's say someone manages to steal your car and gets pulled over. when the cop wants to see paperwork, where will the thief look first? correct answer: GLOVE BOX. they would never think to look in other pockets/cubbies within the car.

my boss goes a step further - in the trunk (he has a MINI). mine's accessible from the driver's seat, but definitely not in the glove box.

note: be careful if you put it under your seat - cops may think you're going to reveal a weapon. think of somewhere else to put it.

in my glove box:
-manuals
-Swiss Army knife
-energy bar
-cellphone battery (charged)
-headset
