Cheated death one more time

I was waiting for the light to change at an intersection yesterday. There was a Ford Aerostar van behind me, and a stretch limo waiting across on the other side. There were also a couple of other cars behind the van and the limo. When the light changed, I pulled out, and after reaching the center notice a car barreling towards me. I buried the gas pedal, and cleared the intersection just in time to see the van in my rearview mirror get t-boned. The car that ran the red light must have been going at least 45 mph. He knocked the van off its wheels onto the poor limo - what a mess. I didn't go back since there were already so many others there at the intersection to witness the crash, and also call 911. I could have kissed my Si for being there for me when I need it.

holy crap man... that's crazy! glad you're okay... now go kiss everyone(and thing) you love! :)

it's amazing to think that in just one second your life could change... or be over. Did you go as soon as it turned green? Usually in Atlanta I wait a second or two after it turns to go through, because so many people run reds its not even funny =(

That sucks bro. Glad to see you made it out safe.

I had the same shit happen to me the other night here in Maryland.

I was at a red light waiting for it to turn green and looked back in my rear view mirror just to see this old lady in a caddy not slowing down. Oh yea, it was raining...but theres no reason why she did'nt slow down because the light was red. So my quick reaction I quickly moved my car over to the right and then stopped. When she actually came to a complete stop Lets just say our cars were side by side. Can you imagine what would have happened if I didn't look back on the rear view mirror? I would've probably been sitting on her hood. WTF is wrong with people man. They need to pay more attention.

but glad I got out of it safe and sound.

Thats crazy man. Si power FTW!

Glad nothing happened to you because a T-bone drivers side hit would have been pretty bad for you

Yeah, actually that's a good point. I always take my time going out into intersections, and did so this time also. Unfortunately, in this case if I had just shot right out I would have cleared it without having to react. In any case my little Si gave me the right amount of acceleration right when I needed it. It saved me. :)

Glad to hear you're okay. That stinks about the van behind you though. Hopefully the driver and any passengers are okay. As well as in the car that hit them. Crazy crazy stuff!
