Oh dear.

Alright- this is the water cooler and so therefore i feel this story should go in here. I got a text message at 230am yesterday from one of my really good friends, telling me she needed to talk to me. ofcourse- i slept through the ringing and got the message today. I phone her back trying to see whats happening. Immeadiately i know somethings wrong.

Apparently lastnite she was sitting in her driveway in her boyfriends car, and theyve been there for awhile just talking. All of a sudden they see a guy walk past and he stares into their car (which is in the driveway). Either way they figure thats kinda weird and go back to talking. As theyre saying goodnight- they hear a tapping at the window- its this same guy. Her boyfriend says "Can i help you?".
The guy motions for them to roll down the window, so he puts it down an inch.
Guy- Hows your night?
boyfriend- Fine..
Guy- Good, because my friends and i going to take your car.

As he says this- the guy pulls out a golf club and apparently tries to swing at the car. My friends boyfriend tosses his car in reverse and flys down the driveway and takes off down the street, as he calls the police and she calls her parents to tell them to not open the door or anything.

Long story short- she doesent end up getting home until 6am and is now freaked to go outside.

Fastforeward to tonight- she and i are talking as im on my way to my buddies place. Her girlfriend is on the way over and rents are out. Im out- and get a call from her. her parents are still out and her girlfriend just left. Apparently her friend walked to her car and didnt start it immeadiately, as there was a car sitting right infront of my friends house. The people in this car saw that she noticed them, and turned on their car and took off. (it was a maroon 4 door with tinted windows)

I went over there on my way home (she lives afew streets over) and did a loop around the street/surronding streets in the SI to look for this car and found nothing. Im kinda creeped out now.

Sorry for the long post. hopefully it made sense. Just thought id share my interesting story for the weekend.

Jesus Christ... WTF is wrong with people? I mean, why even spark up a convo about car jacking them? And a golf club? THAT'S what you're gonna use as a weapon? Fricken retards. If you did hit the car, the club would break anyhow. STUPID. Not to mention the guy should've been ran over. At least clip his ankle and break it... POS human beings...

That boyfriend guy is pretty smart. Hauling ass in reverse was a good idea IMO. How can you car-jack someone with a golf club?

holy Crap almighty. Someone played too much GTA.

Glad to hear they're alright physically, even if they're not alright mentally for the time being.

i have a firearm..

but i never keep it on me or loaded, so......yeah, doesnt do much good =\

if someone tries to take your ride with a golf club, start the car and run.

if someone tried to take your ride with a gun, you better just listen..

america needs to write a new law...

when people who are committing a crime gets hurt, due to victims self-defense, they shouldn't be able to sue the victim of the crime

I hate when a stupidity wins.. like the mcdonalds coffee law suit...lady spills a coffee, gets burnt and sues mcdonalds... and that guy who was trying to rob this one house and gets hurt by the knife cuz of his stupidity SUEs the owner of the house and wins...

i'm like WTF ???????

OP lives in Canada. We have gun control. The attacker had a golf club, not a gun. The attacker is probably fairly delusional - not much of a concept of reality by the sounds of things. I don't want to start a flame war, but is another weapon really the solution here?

Yep :) Guarenteed if you stick a gun in the face of a guy using a golf club as a weapon, they will back down. If not, you shoot them in the leg. Georgia gun laws ftw! If you see someone about to commit a felony, you can shoot.

Granted they might come back after you, since
A) They know where you live
B) you shot them in the fugging leg

There's no win the the situation, either way you pretty much lose. But at least he hurt a little, right?

Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that here in Canada. Hell, if I was delusional enough to try to hijack a car with a golf club, I'd probably wait around till the person was asleep at night and destroy their car for pulling a gun on me.

Pros and Cons.

insurence will cover vandalism but wont cover a car stolen that has the keys in it.
