Thumbs up I love USAA

I know there's been a million insurance threads but I've just got to say that USAA is awesome!

I got an e-mail from them on October 11th saying they were cutting auto insurance rates by a total of $460 million. I just checked my account and my rates went down by 25%!!!!

Now I just need to talk my wife into letting me get an Si to supplement my LX sedan...

everyone is slashing rates...don't know why, but they are. Perhaps some new law got passed that limits their liability, or cars are just safer now. I couldn't tell ya!

I hope that medical insurance does the same. It's rediculous that you need to pay $1,000 per month just so your family members can visit the doctor.
Yes, USAA is great. I've had them for around 20 yrs now. I'm not in the military but my dad was so that made me eligible!

Considering that my insurance increased $600 every 6 months just for moving from VA to PA when I had USAA. Then they went down $600 when I switched to GEICO after living in PA for a month, I'd say it's about time USAA's prices went down. I have the same amount of coverage and less crazy $s.

I did like USAA though. I had them for 6 years and I still have renter's insurance through them.

$600 more every 6 months just for moving to PA...that's insane! Even when I had my cars insured in Nevada (very high insurance rates) through USAA they weren't that much more than VA. I actually felt that the rates I was paying before this reduction were a little high for a married 35 y.o. with no accidents and no tickets.

The good thing is that with the new rates I was quoted $53/mo for a 2007 Si.

Lucky mofos and your private insurance. We're stuck with ONE insurance company: ICBC (Insurance Corporation of British Columbia).

You lucky little Mericans with your competitive, open-market private insurance companies. Come to British Columbia, Canada. You'll find ONE company. ICBC. No competition. No choice. SSSSSSTUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely love USAA. My Pops is retired Army Reserve and I've been on since my folks let me on their coverage in the mid 80s. Anytime another company tries to solicit me, I tell 'em I'm with USAA and they shrink back like roaches.

On the other hand, I'd pass up USAA to have universal health care like you whining Canadians...

I'm with USAA and haven't noticed a drop in price but pay less than $200 per month (total) on '06 Pilot, '06 Civic, and '91 Civic... And that includes a teenager as primary driver on the old car. They are great for loans too. If you're paying 9% or 10% interest on your current loan (this goes for everyone) look into refinancing your car. Why pay $60 more per month for the same vehicle?!

You guys are lucky. Cali has the worst insurance rates. Everything is so high over here, it sucks.
