Theres a new sheriff in town.

Long story made very short, I applied for a Deputy Sheriff for the province of British Columbia last February. I passed all the credentials, tests both physcial and mental, LPI's, driving, interviews, etc etc. and two weeks before deployment (in June of this year) a program coordinator said "BC Sheriff Services probably wouldn't hire you." To my dismay I was too shocked and flustered to dispute anything. I was very mad at the time. $1,000 worth of tests and time, background checks, security clearances etc etc downt the drain.

Anywho, today I was dropping off a Sheriff van (we service them at our dealership) and I talked to the person who interviewed me: Deputy Sheriff Ganon; "Darryl, are you going down for training in January?" I told him the quick story. He was shocked. He didn't know why the program director told me not to come down.

After all this , DS Ganon is going to make some phone calls and possibly get me in for January training and/or pull some
strings!!!

si_civic here may become a Deputy Sheriff. Now, this is a little different from your American Sheriffs. Sheriffs in BC escort prisoners, court security, etc. We don't pull over people or give tickets etc.

I am so excited. I didn't even want to drop this van off today, it was close to my shift end but I volunteered some overtime.

TALK ABOUT FATE!!

Thanks people for the positive comments. It's really still up in the air. Foolio, I would be working at the Supreme Court. I probably can't pull strings etc haha because they initially hire as auxillary, then part time then full time. It's a crazy step.

Who knows. I hyped myself up so much before; not getting myself worked up and then get let down again.
