Attach it as a Microsoft Word document (that's what 95% of companies use). Write in the subject line of the email "Resume as requested". You might want to write in the body of the email that you hope they consider you for the position, you would like working for the company, etc. etc. and your contact information.

There's quite a lot of info on the Internet about this subject. If you run some searches on <resumes+samples+how to write> you should turn up stuff. If you have a big problem, PM me and I'll try to help. I have read and composed lots of resumes in my "former life."

Just attach your resume and use the e-mail itself as a cover letter of sorts. Much like [IVI] said.

Yeah, attach the resume as a word document...make sure you spell check and it looks good...have another set of eyes look at it because you can overlook a lot of small mistakes that someone else will catch.

Also in the body of the e-mail, introduce yourself, tell them that you're interested in the position, and make sure you leave your contact information. If you're fresh out of school or if you're still in school, let them know your status also...I've done a lot of recruiting events for my company at the college i went to so if you any specific questions, feel free to pm me...

Try to get MS Word. Most companies use Word now-a-days.
Although I believe Word has a filter for Wordperfect so that may work.
I would also consider saving it as a PDF file if you can.

One little tip: in the Subject of the email, I always suggest put your name and the position you're applying for.

And as suggested above, use the email body as a cover letter.
Highlight your skills, in reference to the job description (ie, which skills you possess that would meet some of the requirments.) Remember, be brief and to the point. The details are in your resume. Just make yourself stand out so whoever is reviewing will WANT to look at your resume.
