Unhappy Lost an old friend to this War.

Well, I've been in the Navy on and off for 12 years. Through out all the turmoil our nation has faced, I had yet to see anyone I know fall as a casualty. That was until now.

I just found out that a friend from my days in Italy successfully completed B.U.D.s training and went on to become a SeAL. We worked together in Sigonella and he was a blast. We lost touch but I never forgot him. Always fun loving and always respectful of everyone. He truely was a good friend to have. He went through B.U.D.s once and didn't complete it. I'm happy for him that he made it the second time around. Not a simple task and not a common one either, returning and completing that is. Anyway, I don't have anyone to talk to about it right now and I just wanted to vent. The picture at the bottom is a typical Monsoor Moment. :)

PO2 Michael Monsoor, you will be missed and you will still be loved by all those who knew you. Rest in Peace.

He was. Great guy. My husband called to verify if it was him. We were all stationed there together. I new Mike better because I worked with him daily. I'm proud for him that he went on to become a SeAL. That really realy sucks massively. He was only 25!

It is always sad to hear of a soldiers death. 25 and a SEAL? Jees. He achieved so much in that time, it is a shame to see them go so young.

Here's to a young man, a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend, and a fine instrument of war and peace.

RIP.

One thing about the armed services that never changes, is that it seems to age you much quicker than you really are. Everyone I've ever known, including my pops, that's gone through the military has come back a little older looking. I never would've guessed your friend was 25. I'm sorry for the loss.

May I extend my thoughts and prayers for the loss of your friend and all the fine men and women in uniform serving in our armed forces. These brave people put their lifes on the line every day so we may bask in the glory that is our freedom. I for one, don't take it for granted.

America loses another brave son and I salute him as well. Although we read about losing our sons, daughters, friends, husbands, wives WAY, WAY too often, it makes me proud to realize that many people do care and do support our armed services.

Although I've never known Michael Monsoor personally, I think I've known him, if you know what I mean. May he rest in peace.
