MORE School Shootings?
WTF?! What's going on in the U.S.?
Two schools in Vegas on lock-down: http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/10/02/las....ap/index.html And a shooting at an Amish school in Pennsylvania: http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/10/02/ami....ap/index.html |

It seems to happen in waves, like a long period with nothing then all of a sudden it'll happen 6 times - followed by another quiet period.
Hell, maybe they inspire each other I don't know. One thing's for sure though, the way the school's handle that shit is nothing to be proud of. I remember being told in High School that if anyone with a gun ever opened fire they'd come over the PA and tells us to lock the doors, turn off the lights, and hide under our desks. That was their big plan. Honestly, if anything ever happened I'd have thrown a damn desk through a window and climbed out. |

If I get it right, Amish don't live in a society with electronics world. So, I assume outside the community that did this. |

I know this is crazy, but I can't help but to think our "freedom" is the cause of all of this. I mean, every time something happens people scream "It's our right to blah blah blah," and it's causing people to be able to override the things that made this country great in the first place. If you look at the way America was in the 60's - 70's it seems that all the strides we've taken forward since then have also caused our downfalls. I think it's terrible that things like this happen and shock us, but nothing is done passed saying "I feel for them." I also think it's a little odd that Canada has 10% of the total gun-related deaths that America has.
I think all of the things that were unspoken but understood should return to being exactly that. God knows hippies are better to have around than emo's. =P btw, I'm a little out of it right now so I probably should have explained my opinion a little bit better, but oh well. |

I agree with you about American freedom. I also think Canada's different tolerances regarding discrimination has a lot to do with the way their society is. There are areas of T-dot (Toronto) that are fairly rough, as there are everywhere, but majority of Canada keeps it out of the schools, that I've seen. You Canucks might have a different view though. |

I think he might have more or less meant discriminative rather than racist. Which personally, I can't see who in the hell could possibly discriminate against the Amish. I think that living the life of an Amish person for 1 year would probably help every person in this country to not take the things they have for granted.
