what about having just TIRES at the honda dealer. Have them order some, it's not that hard. They don't have to "change" the other SI's then.

What's the date they're giving you for the car? Snow maybe gone by Feb.

# Tread design: General purpose tires, like the all-season tires found on most new cars, have tread patterns that provide good noise characteristics (i.e., they don’t make a lot of noise) and have good dry road handling (i.e., they have a lot of rubber touching the ground for the size of the tire). For driving in snow (or rain for that matter), a more aggressive tread pattern is desirable. By aggressive, I mean deeper, wider grooves and more angles cut into the tread channel away water or to bite in and grip the snow. Normal, all-season tire tread designs can fill up with rain or snow and become “slicks”. Performance or summer tires have much less of their surface area devoted to grooves.

Summer tires or drag radials are about getting more rubber to the road.

# Tire compound: Normal all-season tires have a compound that is “hard” enough to withstand freeway driving on hot summer days without melting or providing unacceptable rolling resistance. But, when the temperature drops, these compounds get harder and harder and, consequently, less grippy.

Purpose-built winter tires generally have softer compound that stays grippier in the cold and works better on ice, in particular.

Interestingly, performance tires also have a somewhat softer compound to grip the pavement, but at the expense of accelerated wear.

best things I could find to show differences.

Theres no doubt you will want to get a set of winter tires for the snow and ice!! discounttire.com or tirerack.com has good deals on tires, and have them mounted at a local shop. Also if the dealer wants to sell the Si with the summer tires, just buy them!! No big deal.
