how to steal an IS300

Flashlight, wrench, screw driver, 10mm socket, wire cutter, common sense

Step 1:


Remove door handle. It should come right off.




Step 2:


Sit back and admire your work.





Step 3:


Identify lock release and door lever mechanisms. See picture for details. The lock release is indicated by the red circle. The door lever is indicated by the green oval.




Step 4:


Push down on the lock release lever to unlock the driver’s door. Push down on the door lever to open the door.




Step 5:


Look inside the vehicle, before opening the door. Prepare, mentally, for the task at hand.




Step 6:


Place your high-quality tools on the passenger’s seat.

Step 7:


Start disassembling the dash area.







Step 8:


Examine the ignition barrel.




Step 9:


Expose the wires in the ignition barrel that are covered by the plastic sheath.


Step 10:


Join constant power (white-red) to ignition (black-red).

Touch starter wire (black-white) to exposed metal of joined power and ignition wires. Remove quickly.


Step 11:


Realize that you have no idea what you’re doing.



Run. Leave tools behind.

For the challenged... this post is an attempt at humor. Since being pissed off won't make it any better, I thought that I might as well make this...
This is why key codes are a good thing. The guy didn't get away with his car because lexus uses a computer chip in their keys (like honda). The car would basically crank, but never start without the key present.

damn i would be pissed if it happened to me it's a shame that they dont even know how to steal a car anyways, i think he would have been better off if they did steal it, more money from insurance and brand new car :)

There is an easier way to steal cars with key chips. I'm not going to mention, because I don't want anyone getting any ideas. And it doesn't require taking the car apart. If you have ever seen gone in 60 sec you would know?
