Back from the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC), *PIX*

Ladies and Gents, I give you the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk Louisiana (45 minutes from ANYWHERE)...

^The living quarters...hard shelter and hard cots...Card games galore, its worse than Vegas...i lost nearly $100 in a night and said "thats enough"

See, told ya

^Our Maintenance area...Its where we work on...

...These! The New M1151 Series Up-Armored HMMWV (High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle, or Humvee) with Series II Bullet/Shrapnel resistant Tires, 6.5L Turbocharged GM Diesel coupled to a GM Hydramatic Model 4L80-E Transmission and New Process Gear Transfer case, with Frag 7 Armor Kits (those windows are 7 INCHES thick ladies and gentlemen...and the doors weigh 542lbs.)

^ Our Field Site, after 6 days without a shower in the Louisiana Humidity...you dont wanna know what I smelled like...It was hotter than 2 rats screwin in a wool sock under a woodstove for the first 2 weeks.

I can't tell you for security reasons, the intricate details of our training there. I can however, say that this is the most comprehensive (and expensive) training the army gives. It has real world scenarios, and real combat stress...the only thing is, at the end of the day, the bullets are rubber (or blanks) and the Mortar rounds are just pyrotechnics. Everything else is as real as it gets. Best combat training I have ever had...and even though I am a mechanic (not infantry), I walked away learning some stuff.

Nice mang, thanks for the pics. I'm actually PCS'ing to Fort Polk in about three months but first I have to go to school to be a canine handler. I know what the heat and humidity are all about because I've been there, grew up in GA and spent 4 years at Fort Stewart near Savannah.

What? lol just because you "heard" from people in the military doesn't make it gospel. You know rumors in the military are just as if not worse than rumors in high schools. **** spreads like you wouldn't believe. Truth is unless you heard this from some kind of unit commander I wouldn't buy it. If anything they could have been training for "civil unrest" in Iraq which is probobly what they were talking about. That happens quite frequently there.

So unload your guns guy.

What weapon do you have? I haven't seen a cartridge hold 39 rounds.

Really? Aren't you in the military?

That's the measurement of the round. 7.62mm is the diameter of the round itself and 39(mm) is the length of the round with the shell.

You've got the
- 7.62x39 (AK-47)
- 7.62x51 NATO ( CETME, G3, L1A1, M14, Etc.)
- 7.62x54 (Dragunov)

Well didn't they "deploy" the 3rd ID or so here in the States sometime last month?

The way I read it, he was saying he had a 39 round magazine. I had to reread it.

Wow.........

Dude all I can say is anyone who shoots at an American service member anytime, anywhere better be ready to kill the service member and they better be ready to die. Besides we have 7.62x51 and a hell of a lot more of it than any civilian will ever be able to have, end of story.

And BTW, mO 64 StAnG 06, dude... lovecheese is in the Air Force and since they aren't ground troops they don't get that kind of weapons training, and unless they're hunters or gun enthusiasts they just wouldn't have any reason to know about ammuntion on that level.

A very small part of the 3rd Infantry Division, which was over 30,000 strong total last time I heard and scattered across the country - meaning that nowhere near a division strength unit was "deployed" inside the U.S. Thank you very much to the irresponsible media who got all the paranoid psycho conspiracy theorists all wound up with thier panties in a bunch. The 3rd Infantry Division is also the regular Army unit which would augment the National Gaurd if God forbid there was ever another state of emergency like there was with Hurricane Katrina in 2005. They would be there to save the asses of so many ungreatful citizens who blame the government for every bad thing that ever happens in the world.... frikin dumasses, some people.

edit: I'm calling the people who blame the U.S. government for every bad thing that happens dumbasses not anyone here in particular. bluetwo does not condone violence against citizens in any way.

Nah, I'm in 3ID and I'm pretty sure I'd remember that. I'm in AVN BDE and we're running our aircraft through reset right now, and Division HQ, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd BDEs all just got back over the summer, we don't even have enough to go to the field let alone deploy anywhere.

It's nowhere near as big a deal as people tried to make it out to be back in early October. Needless to say there is no reason to be fearful of a "military coup"

I still could see this as a potential turning point for things to come.

Sure It might not seem like a big deal but it could be. So are they expecting for things to get worse here within the states? Why? Is there something that lays here in the future to warrant an uprising that the government is aware of?

It's good to question things and this definitely is one of those things to question.

I was just really scared he was going to say his AR15 hold a 7.62MM cartridge. I wanted to contain everything until then!

They've got AR's chambered in .308's. Hell they've got them in .22LR, .50, and 6.8.
