I wonder if that Barberton person celebrated by eating a large pizza at Tomasos and then headed over to DQ for a large blizzard? I think I would have moved out of Barberton.

coinstar is such a rip off, they charge you like 8 cents for every dollar you put in there.

still...that's a lot of pennies!

I gotta say, I really DON'T understand the Coinstar thing. They seem quite successful, but I've yet to encounter a bank that doesn't do this for you for free. Am I missing something? Perhaps I've just dealt with really good banks?

I thought they had to be rolled, for a bank to take them. I'm gonna tell my bank that if they want to keep me as a customer, they gonna have to count my pennies.

Actually, most banks still only accept rolled coins. The bank I go to has a branch or two that has free automated coin counters for account holders, but it's still not common. They are quite handy though, that's for sure. Especially when you don't have to pay that 8% tax!

Odd. Of the three banks I have used with any major regularity in my life (i.e., used them long enough to have occasion to take jars of coins in) they have accepted them without question. Just grab the jars, disappear into the back, machine goes clackity-clack, come back with a receipt to issue me my bills.

wow never had that. Last like 6 banks I've dealt with - "you have to bring your coins in rolled, or we won't take them"
