New Cell Phone, Motorola SLVR
I've got to get a new one. Well, don't HAVE to, but since my cell phone's vibrating function is no longer functional I was going to get a new battery, but might as well just get a new phone. I've had the same ol' piece of crap phone for 2 years now. Have to upgrade my service contract, but no big deal. I like the company I'm with (Cingular) so it's no sweat...
Sidetracked... Point being, I'm looking at the Motorola SLVR. Looks pretty cool. I'm not a fan of flip-phones, so I don't care for the razor. I mainly just want bluetooth and speaker phone. This one has itunes, which is neat, but I'm not sure I'd actually use it since I have a shuffle & ipod. Anyone have this? I *think* it's a new phone, but dunno.

i have one, my lady bought it for my b-day. the phone is cool but the downfall that i notice is when you calling or receiving a phone call you could hardly hear that person talk...sound quality on the speakerphone pretty iffy sometime i could barely make the words out. So i was planing to upgrade the phone to a palm tre0 or a nextel. But i already use a nextel as a company phone and i like it

Im a sales manager for cingular and I don't particularly care for motorola products. Always issues with the devices from malfunctioning keypads to poor volume to glitches in the operating system, etc. etc. If you are looking for a phone with a media play and some other great features including Cingular Video, check out the new LG CU500. http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=951

I'm not really into having the coolest cell-phone. However, I feel if I'm getting one, I need to get one that will last me a couple years. I don't care if it takes pictures or video. I have a digital slr & video camera. Like I said, I mainly just want speakerphone & bluetooth (for future cd players). I'm a big electronics fan, but not with phones for some reason...
That being said, I may hold off for this Motorola RIZR. ![]()

I'm also using the SLVR. I got an unlocked version. It doesn't have iTunes, but it does have a default mp3 player. I like the fact that it doesn't feel like it bulks up my pockets, although the volume (size) is actually larger than my other phone (Nokia 6230b).
Plusses: Bluetooth, mp3 player, mini-USB port for charging (I can just stick it in my USB port on my computer to charge up), large bright LCD (it's sharper than the LCD used in the RAZR), microSD memory card slot, good battery life, can load up lots of Java programs (games, etc.), easy to hack into with Motorola software, mini-USB port is compatible with RAZR accessories, super slim, nice form-factor, flashy, quad-band phone, unlocked version can use just about any GSM SIM card (can use on both Cingular and T-Mobile networks as well as others worldwide) Minuses: Low earpiece volume even when at maximum loudness, no FM radio, no voice recording, buttons are tiny and aren't very tactile (you can't feel your way around the keypad very easily if you're not looking at the phone), push-to-talk button/feature doesn't work on Cingular, not a great camera phone (like early RAZRs), wish they used a regular SD card rather than the microSD (transflash) card |

I recommend not getting a Motorola.. I will be selling the Motorola Razr v3i.. it has itunes and it has a mp3 player.. its comparable to the slvr,, but its a little better but it is a flip phone.. it has a 1.23 mp cam and has everything else like the v3.. but I hate motorola
.. they're so slow and the interface is childish.. if anyone wants to buy it.. it has a 1gb card.. sorry to veer the forum.. its in perfect condition.. if you want more info / whatever please message :].. and good luck with the new phone purchase.. but I'd recommend a Samsung >> its what I'm getting.. but if you want a stick phone.. I'd get the cingular phone that has windows on it.. you'll LOVE it.. hope my comments help :] and hope someone messages me for my phone :P
