Engagement Ring

Just paid off my fiance's $2400 engagement ring.

I got it from Zales last December since they were offering 12 months no interest. I paid about $100 extra each month and when I started my co-op with my company this summer I paid as much extra as I could each check. Then I bought my Civic, so I was eager to get rid of that ring payment. I went earlier and put down the final $260 on it. I feel like a weight was lifted off my shoulders.

Now, I gotta try to make up through January's car payments so I won't have to work any this coming semester. Ramen noodles are going to be my saving grace, lol.

I hope I don't sound like I'm bragging, I'm just really glad to have that stinking ring paid off.

Good job. Debt is no easy thing to get rid of, but it looks like you have at least one less thing to worry about. Congrats on your engagement!

Congrats on paying off the ring.....now you just have to hope she says yes. lol j/k

Good luck making those payments til January. Careful of those ramen noodles, you'll be a walking brick of salt in a couple months.

I got engaged last year and luckily didn't have to go the financing route. Bonus check helped real well. She got the rock and I got my HDTV. lol

oops just realized she already said yes. Congrats and now good luck on the wedding plans.

Oh, sure. Everyone is invited. I know I was talking about being happy just to pay off the ring, but what I forgot to mention is that I am truly rich. Not just rich, wealthy (thank you, Chris Rock for pointing out there is a difference). I just decided to finance to build my credit up....I wish.

I think for the wedding it'll be Ramen. Surprise, surprise.

We're actually looking at June 9, 2007. Still don't have a place to get married at yet, though.

Congrats. I bought my intendeds ring 2 months before I got the balls to ask her. If she would have said no, then I would have been out of $2250. I had to use the money that I was going to use as part of my downpayment for my Si, but I knew I just had to just go for it.

Sounds like a nice ring. I got my wifes ring for 1800 if I recall, paid it off in one month. She likes it but I think I could have gotten something bigger.

2 things:

1. How much do the security guards cost you?
2. Why are you posting in a Civic forum!? You should pawn that thing off and get an Acura, lol.

For a decent ring you have to pay at least 5k and go to a respectable jeweler, Ive heard horror stories about those chain jewelers like zales.

Holy freaking symmetry, batman! I just paid off my fiancees ring this month as well (although considerably less than yours, I'm poor! Only $1000). But my finaly payment was $230! I bought the ring in March. I'm stoked to have it paid off! Oh, and our wedding date? April 7th, 2007! Come on! Too close! For what, I don't know!!! Sweet!!!

<edit> Oh! And I bought the ring from Zales also! Holy freakin' crap!

First off.

Congrats to you both.

Me and the MRs just married a year and a half ago

2ndly. Are you really really sure you want this?? Have you thought this through?

3rdly: Now this is a legal binding contract are you aware of the possible implications??

I sold my 06 Acura TL Navi to get the civic. $15,000 back in my pocket that went right out the window plus more $$ to prepay both my kids college - 531 Fl plan. I have a 2 year old boy and a 4 year old girl. So now, when my girl hits 15, my house is paid (5 years into a 15 year mortgage) and both of their college. Time to really play.

Congratulations, on getting married and getting the ring paid off. Just this year I finished off the payments for my wife’s engagement ring, and we have been married for almost 3 years! Good luck to you, mortgage payments are just around the corner...........
