basketball hoop project

so I always thought it would be cool to have the lines to a basketball court at my house. My parents never felt that way, so they never let me paint it. Well, now that I have a hoop at my own house, I decided to paint the lines. Take a look at another project I've been working on when I have a chance.

yes- it's regulation - I did it to highshool/college specs. NBA 3 line would have been too far out in the driveway. I suck at basketball, but I like to shoot around.

How'd you get the lines so perfect?! Now you need a fence to stop the ball from rolling down the hill!

I'll take that as a compliment. It honestly took a looooooong time to finish it completely. I did an enormous amount of measuring and remeasuring. I tried like 3 different ways to get the arcs to be good, but it wasn't easy. I found the best solution was to measure out a string with a sharpie pen on it to the correct length. Then with the other end taped at the correct position - I did the arc lines. I then had to mask everything out with masking tape - long procedure - and then had other masking paper on each side to keep the spray from going on the driveway. It was all done with spray paint. A few coats of flat black followed by a more semi gloss black to finish. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.
