They aren't offering anything more than a 1.0B bonus in my MOS right now. I'm too far out to re-enlist right now. I just hope they lift the FENCE and i can call branch some time soon. I wanna go back with the 3 ACR. Like they say, "You never know what you got till it's gone." Were you with 1st Bge that relieved us up north (Mosul/Tall Afar/Sinjar) in FEB 2006? or were you part of the ready reserve they had in Kuwait? |

ok i have been to probably every major airstrip in iraq and the problem with kuwait is that its super hot and dusty all the time. at least when we flew into iraq it would be cooler and there would be some sort of cloud cover plus it rains a lot more in iraq. the farther south you go like toward qatar it get ungodly hot. the good thing about kuwait is there are no mortars or that type of bull**** to worry about. there is not a lot to do there but its really nice and i had rather be somewhere where its boring than take a chance on getting hurt. just my.02

I was in Arifjan for a couple months back in 03 or 04.. wasn't too bad then, they had some permanent barracks, a nice pool, Nathans hot dog stand, a little night club type area (ghett-o). All around not too bad, and I expect theyve made vast improvements over the past few years.
