Ft Hood
I know we have a lot of Army guys. I know we have a few Ft Hood guys. I just want to make sure y'all are okay. While I'm sorry that anyone got hurt and killed by that man, I want to make sure that you guys are still here.
Bossman, log on dammit. |

stationed at Ft Hood
My family and I are safe- at this moment, the post is still locked down.... my thoughts go out to all those killed and wounded. The shooter is right where he needs to be: in a body bag
WAITING to hear from bossman.... he just got home and could have been RSRP at the site. Hopefully he is just locked down at his unit and can't get to a computer- the cell towers here are saturated so if you guys/girls know him and are trying to call... nothing is going through Last edited by SGTfr0sty; 11-05-2009 at 09:05 PM. |

Already reading stuff on the internet about how this may have been a terror plot because of the guy's ethnic background. I sure hope it wasn't.
RIP to all who died, and best wishes for the rest to recover. MSNBC is now saying the base lockdown is over. Hopefully we'll hear from our Ft Hood members now. Last edited by superbike81; 11-05-2009 at 09:23 PM. |

Post has been open for a few hours now... they are doing some serious security checks at all of the gates- My unit is not coming in tomorrow to help ease traffic. It is going to be a ***** getting on post tomorrow.
Looks to be a single gunman that didn't want to deploy and thought the best way to get out of it was to kill 12 of his fellow comrades in arms. I hope after his court martial, they hang his sorry ass. |

I'm not sure if anyone will have this info or not here, but I'm trying to keep all my options open.
I am planning on getting out of the Air Force, finishing Nursing School, and then re-joining the Air Force as a medical officer. If for some reason I am unable to re-join the Air Force, or the Army or Navy give me a better reason to join (incentives) I will consider them as well. Can anyone tell me if medical officers in the Army still fall under the same 12month (or 15 month?) deployment cycles? That's the main thing swaying me away from the Army. I know it will be best to contact someone at the Army Nurse Corps, but before I make that step, I was hoping someone would know here. |

I realize I'm about to bump up an old thread, but I just saw there was another person on here with my job in the USAF so maybe there are more!
I'm Active USAF, 3E7X1 Fire Protection, been in for almost a year now, 3 to go! E-3 currently. Stationed in the NW US. |
