Fried my cell phone!

So I'm sure this has happend to a lot of people but I've done it so many times now that it pisses me off! I was out boating this Saturday....we had a keg on the boat so I was a LITTLE wasted. I was trying to call a freind and after no answer I put my phone in my pocket and a minute later I hopped into the water. DE DE DE! So there goes my RAZR! I have phone insurance since this has happend more than a couple time but it sucks being without a phone for a few days! Not to mention I have my motorcycle in the paper for sale and can't answer now!

Fresh or Salt water? If fresh water, and with lots of luck. You can take it apart (as much as you can) and let it dry for several days. After about 5-8 days pop the battery in and test it out. I've seen Nokia phones and different laptops recover using this method. Good luck.

Fresh. Yeah I pulled the battery out right away and have it under a fan right now. I'm guna bring it to work and open it up since there is water behind the screen. I need a very small torx driver to open it up and don't have anything that small at home. I just want to get my numbers and pics off it. I think I have a couple //( . )( . )\\ shots on it.

Oh yeah! Another thing to consider is where your pics and numbers are stored. I store all numbers on my SIM card and my pictures on a removable MMC card. The phone has it's own internal memory as well. After I backup images from the MMC card to my computer, and I intend on keeping the image for a long time (say as a wallpaper or ringtone or something) then I move it to the phone memory.

I did the same thing to my Samsung back in December. I didn't turn it on for a week. I kept it open and positioned so that it could drain. It still works great. The only sign that there was a problem is a water stain on the inside of the viewing screen.

Mine is the same way right now...I have it sitting in the Si flipped open on the dash right now. It's about 90 and sunny here today so that should dry it out.
