My Fish Tank

Anyone else into the Salt Water Tanks? Mine is a 30 Gallon Oceanic Cube Tank. I've got 45lbs of fiji live rock a nice bed of white aragnic sand and ofcourse don't forget the fishies. I've got 1 black/white striped damsel, 1 domino damsel, 1 yellow tailed blue damsel, 1 perucula clown, and 1 green spotted mini puffer.

I love salt water tanks. The best fish are saltwater fish. Prettiest colors. How hard is it to maintain them though. I've heard rumors that it's hard so I've steered clear due to that.

I have the same Oceanic tank as you except mine is fresh water. Yours looks really good - nice assortment of fish!!

I have Chiclids - they all went to hide when I turned on the tank light...

This was my pride and joy...
hard and soft coral....all kinds from mushrooms and polyps to montipora etc etc
all kinds of tangs...yellow, purple, naso, Christmas island, the pretty blue one that acts dead(can't remember name)
red flame hawk fish
red lion fish....surprisingly never bothered the smaller fish...guess the shrimp kept him happy.
nemo
beautiful clams..like 6 of them
crabs, snails...all kinds
shrimp(fire)....salt water feeder shrimp by the bunch(enough that they reproduced and kept the tangs happy)
blue/green reef chromis...
gobies...different types
tons of live rock...
other livestock i can't remember....
got the tank to the point where it managed itself...only had to do water changes...no adding of supplements...the beginning was hell though.

had the water current down packed with 2 red sea microprocessors controlling about 8 jets...
big sump and filter media with just bio balls...
2 canister filters with nitrate sponge and carbon and something else i can't remember...
big UV sterilizer
Damn the water in that tank was clean.

never had an outbreak of any kind.

Then it was time to start budgeting for the Si...so i got rid of it....made a load of money from it...

Oh but don't worry...i've already started on the next one...i can't do without it.
