lol, I throw everything in the trunk for that exact reason. My store also doesn't require that I use the pizza topper.

@civicracer

Tonight sucked for us, we were slow as hell. I made 60$ and change on 10 deliveries and used about 3 gallons of gas. It was car show night for us in town and most of the business was inside the store.

I don't have to use te sign either. I oonly use it when I deliver to the beach sometimes when parking is hard to find, so the parking cops don't get me for being double parked.

Move to SoCal! I delivered in North Carolina a couple years ago for Domino's, Papa Johns, and an independent. Got $5.25 an hour there, $2.00 gas money, and avg tip was $2.50. Avg tip now is $5.00, with $2.50 comp per delivery.

Average tip for me at the end of the night is about $4 with $2 comp per delivery. I had some guy tonight trying to get the pizza for free saying he called in over an hour before I got to his house, but I took the pizza out my self 15 minutes before I got there. When he started bitching I just left and went back to the store and ate his pizza. =D

Cool, we're an independent store, so we can do that as well and not have to worry about some dumb 1-800 customer satisfaction hotline!

Everyone always tells me they can't smell the pizza inside my car, only if they open my trunk. I only use a little vent air freshener inside the car which wouldn't be nearly enough to hide the oder of dozens of pizzas.

Pastas definitely have a stronger oder, especially the seafood ones. I still can't smell them inside the car though.

Reason why it's hard to get a chain store to up the gas comp$$$ is because they have national ad promos with ungodly deals. Like Domino's 555 deal. (3) 1 topping meds for $15. How can they possibly make any money on that crap? My pizza shop sells med cheeses for $12.95, with no discount for the 2nd pizza. OUr client base is rich people. It's a quality New York style thin crust. If drivers are looking to get bigger tips, you need to go find a job at a higher end pizzeria. It's worth the switch. I did it.
