Because girls always play these little games. She's asking if you want their numbers because she really wants to know if you're interested in her. I deff agree with him, it's a way for them to see if you're even interested in them or if it's even worth their time. Your answer to that should have been more direct, like i'd rather be hanging out with you than them or something like that. If you like hanging out with her, tell her. If you're having good conversations online, i don't see why you can't have them when you're around each other. If she's hanging out with you, that means she's somewhat interested, otherwise she wouldn't be wasting her time like that. Make sure that she knows that you enjoy being around her, that you're not interested in another girl, but if that's not the truth, don't lie to her. If you'd rather have her as a friend, let her know in a soft and easy way, not just oh i'd rather be friends, because then you will lose her.

I can't tell you how many times one of my friends used to post these stupid cleavage shots on her myspace and complain how small her boobs were. Anyways, to the OP. She likes you, so don't acknowledge any other girl, and just give her all your attention..if you're diggin' her. When she asked if you wanted their numbers, you should have said something like, "Nah, I don't need any of their numbers, I already have yours". You have to subtly let her know you're interested, but don't give away all your chips and just say "I like you". Then the game is over and there's a decent shot she'll be after the next guy. It's all a game for some girls. Thankfully, at least, if you play the game long enough, you get them in the end. At least for some. Others just refuse to grow up.
