I just picked up 2008 nintendo wii for myself and my girl.
Its still unopened in the box but heres the quick questions for game freaks

how are they? do they have any lag issue or anything during the playing? I only have 5 sports games that are came with the box. What kinda games would you recommend?

I don't own one, but have played A LOT on my friends. The only thing I have to suggest is to get Mario Cart. The game is a blast! As far as lag issues I would say no from my experience.

Congrats on the Wii! Online gameplay for the Wii is real iffy. Sometimes it takes awhile to find people to play and you have to deal with friend codes to play with buddies. Other than that, gaming online is relatively lag free (for me at least) and VERY fun. You don't have to put up with little 10 year olds, just straight up gaming.

A few games you should definitely get include: Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Kart, Brain Academy (fun multiplayer game), and WiiPlay (but ONLY if you need another Wii remote). There are a few more that I own, but I find that I play those the most, the latter four when I have friends over.

Wii Sports is great for parties. You'll get tired of it quickly if you play it on single player. Another game I would recommend is WarioWare... very addictive game.

Mario Kart is pretty fun. Using the WiiWheel takes a little getting used to, but it adds fresh new gameplay. You can always use the classic/gamecube controller as well.

I've had a wii since its come out, i stood in line at target for 10 hours or so, i would really suggest buying super smash brawl and mario kart, other then that buy a gamercard from blockbuster that allows you unlimited game rentals, i have found that games get really old quickly and its best if you get a game, beat it, and get a new game, in the end it will save you lots of money and also let you never get bored.

Its not a car dude

I have like 14 games. I pretty much buy a lot of the party games. One of my favorite is Wii Party. It is great. Has Ping cip (basically beer pong without the mess), shuffle board, basketball..etc. Its like arcade style games. I love it. I also like Winter Sports. It get your ass to move and makes ya tired as hell lol

mario kart hands down. Do yourself a favor though and buy a classic controller or a gamecube controller. The game is much more fun with these.

I have heard mario galaxy is tons of fun. Some of the party games are fun to if you can get passed the kiddy looks.

^ that is a possibility. I didn' t play mine for months until I got Mario Kart. Once the WOW i found a Wii factor runs out, the majority of games are simply too kiddie for me.

i got my wii for the fun factor. its a great system just to have fun. i have 360 with halo but that gets to serious sometimes.

when people are over, i bust out the wii and everyone has a great time. even better with drinks! lol.

but i highly recommend mariokart and brawl. you can go online with both but mariokart online is far superior. i have yet to try zelda or metriod tho. i really wanna pick those 2 up. you cant go wrong with any nintendo game really.

there is a lack of 3rd party support with the wii. which will lead to less "good games". but that doesnt really bother me. i dont need a lot of games to please me cuz i can play a single game for hella long. how can you go wrong with mario zelda and metriod? you really cant.
