ps3>360?

i have (had) a xbox360. the problem is ive sent it in 3times for the ring or death. and its back so im done i want a reliable system i like all the games for the ps3. but i dont know anyone that owns one. ive had good luck with the old sonys 1&2 but i seen some posts where they overheat. the big selling point is its so quiet! my 360 sounded like a leaf blower lol how is the ps3 is it worth the 399 price tag? thanks!

i love my ps3...the 360 has a better online community but thats because they charge people. its free with the ps3. the red ring of death is not cool. my ps3 doesnt overheat. i have the 60 gig which to my understanding is the best one. i think they stopped making them tho.

ps3 comes with free live online. and it has the blue ray built in. im thinking about the same thing. i just got the ring of death

uhh, if your xbox 360 was the first gen, then it sucks. i recently sold my first gen to my friend and he got the ring of death. my warranty wasn't over and he just turned it in to microsoft.

as of right now, imo, i think xbox 360 > ps3 because of the better online play and more games to choose from.

but 360's don't get gran turismo 5.

Everyone I know gets the ring of death. My daughters boyfriend has had to send his back like 4 times, Once a month it seams like....LOL.
I have not had one problem with my PS3 at all. I like both systems but Sony for reliability, and I still think 360 gets better games, for now.
So it is a hard call. Just get the PS3 and hold on to the 360. When you have to send the 360 back you could still play the PS3.

i have not had one problem with my 60gb ps3 and i got it when it came out. sony's psn is come out with a new interactive online community which looks promising, plus you don't have to pay for it.

ps3 + gtaiv + 1080p hdtv ftmfw!!!

thanks for the input! when i seen unreal tounament i was like omg i have to get this. in highschool my electronics teach would let us skip all other classes play all day online. and gt4... so they dont make the 60gig?

The 60gig is now the 80gig and the 40gig is now the 60gig if I got that right. They dropped the lower one for some reason, and upped the top one. If you want gigs just get the lower one and put whatever size hard drive you want in it.

i owned a premium and i now have the elite... no probs watsoever. and i used to use it ALOT and i use it here and there. no probs watsoever. my bro got the red ring, but he bought his used at the eb games place. but this ones fine... so i guess it happens to some.

i think the 60 gig was made with some kinda different chip which cost too much for sony to make and sell for what they were selling it for. thats why they made the 40 gig and discontinued the 60 gig

both are good gaming console. i had my eye on ps3 for the longest time but changed my mind at the last minute because at the time we tested & compared both on 1080p lcd , xbox 360 has better graphics on at least 4 games.

for those who are saying xbox is loud obviously has the old version. they now have the updated version with falcon chipset which is quieter and does not overheat. the newer version also has the hdmi slot on it...

...but still i'm getting ps3 so i can have the best of both world.

I have a ps3 and it's not that great. The graphics are pretty amazing but thats about it. Game selection kind of sucks. The main reason I got a ps3 is because I wanted to still be able to play my ps2 games but that doesn't quite work. If you are running your ps3 games in 16:9 in HD it still makes you play your ps2 games in squished 4:3.

PS3 all the way, better graphics, build better and the best games coming out in 2008 will be on PS3, plus i get online on it to surt the web alot, free online play, bigger harddrive, blue-ray player and so on, 360 will no have a chance in this next 3 years..

I had my PS3 since launch and i play it everyday and have had no problems with it..
