I agree the 360 is a great system, the only reason I got a PS3 is so I could play my old PS2 games but now I'm starting to regret it....

yea see for me thats the last thing i worry about, i never could understand why people spend hundreds of dollars on a new system only to want to play old games, for me when i get a new system i want the latest games with the best graphics so for me that was the last thing i cared about, i actually got ps3 cuz a friend got one and i figured wed play online a lot, i really liked it but he eventually sold his and after 3 months i still only had 3 games, then when gta was pushed back i went to the store to find a racing game only to see that the only ones out were the new need for speed and i think ridge racer or some *** crap like that, so i went to best buy bought an elite along with forza 2 and gears of war and never looked back, and still to this day theres no game out for ps3 that is a must have or makes me want the system, mainly cuz there arent that mainly exclusives any more

Yeah, the lack of good games on the PS3 really pisses me off. Come to think of it there aren't really that many games at all. I was in blockbuster the other day and I was looking in the game rental section and there were seriously only like 20 games and most of them were just the various sports games. There were probably 120 plus PS2 games and 80 plus 360 games. It also seems like it takes at least a decade to make a PS3 game and about a century to make a PS3 exclusive game.

Who would buy a sony because of the name. The xbox was far more reliable than the
ps2. But microsoft just prematurely sold their 360 to get a jump on the market and games. At least they fixed their issues and include the newest features in the new models. But I still don't know why they put heatsinks on everything but the videocard. Now that they did, no red ring.

funny thing is, all those ps2 games won't even be compatable with the new ps3

exactly why i switched, to me its not worth that wait, especially when the main game i was waiting for (gta) was coming out for both systems

I'll rent one for the metal gear4, but I want to know is what are these exclusives that ps3 is supposed to be coming out with. Name one other than metal gear. Game developers don't even know have to code games that are benificial to the current playstations capabilities. Once microsoft gets blue-ray exclusives it's over.

well looking quick at gamespot, medal gear, socom, resistance 2, and turismo are the only ones that jump out at me, but like ive said for resistance we have halo, socom both have cod4 which id prefer, and turismo we have forza2, or project gotham, so for every game really 360 has a good counter

I don't agree with the reliable name. Almost Every early generation PS2 made, broke. I went through 2, my brother went through 2 and about everyone i know had at least one fail on them. The only Sony product I truly believe in is their LCD HDTVs

If you look at any video game page (Gamespot for one) that shows side by side graphics comparisons, 360 wins almost every one. Not to mention PS3's online support is a joke, and most of their games quickly made knockoffs of 360 games.

The PS2 had a crap load more games than the XBOX and tons of desirable games that were either fully exclusive or temporarily exclusive. Now Sony is struggling to get enough games for the PS3 to make people want to buy their system and has no good exclusives. Kind of a role reversal.

Please, everyone grow up. You bought your respective system(s) for whatever personal reasons be it for the games, multiple media features, controllers, etc. No need to start system flame wars and insult others for their decisions. If anything, more competition = better games!! We should all be happy for that.

Personally, (not to be a hypocrite, choose if you want to read the following) I own all three systems and love them each for their strengths. I agree with others that Xbox 360 has more/better games. Kudos for Microsoft for releasing the Xbox 360 a year early to get a jump on the build up of a huge game library. But the Xbox fans are shafting the PS3 owners because of the lack of great games. It's a younger system and the AAA titles will come out soon enough (as will more Xbox 360 games). Gaming is all a matter of preference and I'm really only into FPS and racing games, so obviously my Xbox 360 would seem like it receives more play time for Halo 3; however, I actually play COD4 and GTA4, to name a few PS3/360 games, more on my PS3. Like many of you stated, you buy the system with the games you like AND/OR because your friends have the system (in my case, they all have PS3). Halo 3 was really the only selling point for me, damn GTA4 and COD4 for sucking up the Halo online community... oh well. Oh and I also got the Wii because I grew up on Nintendo and love its classic franchises. Plus, the ladies love playing with Wiis. Oh BTW, "Blueray" will never be a Microsoft exclusive, as Sony had a big part in its development while Microsoft backed up HD-DVD. Of course Microsoft will be paying a nice premium (like with GTA4) to get the Bluray add-on for the 360. 2008 will be a great gaming year for us all, no matter what system(s) you own. Cheers!

So in conclusion of my OPINIONS, the PS3 is like the Civic Si, priciest and made for enthusiasts ; the Xbox 360 is like the Civic EX, more accessible (for the non-MT capable folk) but still with the luxuries; and the Wii is like the Civic LX, it tries to do the same with less of the same.

i too would compare the ps3 to the civic si, all the great tools but still missing something, no kpro for the civic and no torque, no game selection and issues developing for the ps3 plus bad online support

But with your argument, the CIVIC EX aka Xbox 360 would have those same issues!

One or two games a year? I'm fine with that, that means I have up to six games across three platforms!! Definitely don't have the time (nor the money) to spread out like that due to school/work/etc. PS3 Home!! If it ever comes out. COD4 and GTA4 will keep me plenty busy until MGS4. Just realized that there are so many "4's."
