Gran Turismo 5

Dows any one know if we can hook up the engine in this game. Because so far i dont see the option on mine. Games is really nice, cars look really good, but no hooking up the engine atleast = boring after a 2 weeks to me. Anybody know?

And also does anyone know if we can download the si? because i remember reading that we can purchase cars from their online.

what is hooking up an engine? if you mean tuning, then no the prologue will not feature this nor purchasable cars.

I been playing the Japanese Gran Turismo 5 Prologue for a few months now. You cannot modify anything in the game. It's still in it's demo stages, hence the "Prologue" name. All this offers is more cars and tracks and a online play. That's all.. Just a taste of what's really good until the actual game releases.... Knowing Sony probably sometime in 2010.. :P

Prologue does offer tuning after you beat all events including "S"

By tuning i meant part upgrades, bad choice of words. You're semi-right, tuning comes after you beat C, B, and A. the use of tuning is generally required to beat S.

for gods sake people this is why they call it a prologue, this game is nowhere near being released. to all those people who bash this game b/c you can't buy a stage 2 engine upgrade, or a stage 3 suspension upgrade you totally misunderstood the intent of this game. This game accomplished what it was originally intended to do, shut the gran turismo crowd up a few more months til the real version is realeased

Um... everyone who has replied referred to OPs question as GT5Prologue... so in short, we all know this. I don't see anyone bashing the game at all, it was a simple question with a simple answer. BTW, it's not going to be released in a "few months", more like a year from now.

All this is true, i wasn't trying to bash the game or anything. I admit that this game is great, and as per graphics, there just isnt anything flawless about them but not too many people are aware of terms like betas, prologues, etc. as myself. They should have said this from the beginning that this is more like a trial version to what is soon to come out. Thus alot of people instead of spending $42 on this game maye could have spent their money on something else more interesting at the moment like Haze, Gran Theft 4 (im getting tonite 12:00 am "Yeaaaa"), the wheelman, or something that is about to come out and offer everything about the game not just a sample. I traded mine in and luckily with my hook up i got full value back and put it down towards Grid which should be niceeeee. Again not bashing the game but, i just dont think for a beta should have cost more than $25-$30, but oh well i guess gas companies arent the only ripping us up.

True, but hey theirs not a problem spending the money for something that is worth wild having, i aint rich but atleast to me. But for Gran Theft, i dont know how my home boy did it but he burned a copy of it the other day (yea it hasnt came but, computer wizardss) for his 360 and that shit was nice, i played it yesterday and the only thing i can tell you is, the game is raw and they have gotten serious, from stealing cars to picking up a prostitute and showing him grab her head up and down while getting head lol that shit was funny. Otherwise man cant wait to get my copy tonite for ps3, graphics on the 360 were ok but im sure on ps3 will show a little better though. But that said its a good game and all yall who reserved it will enjoy it. (dont ask me were my home boy got his copy from cause i dont even want to ask, it aint an original copy of the game some how from some website they he DL the files and he has his 360 modded so there you go).

I heard they're still not doing crash damage in GT5 which is stupid because you can just crash into stuff all day. I mean come on, need for speed prostreet has crash damage (it's mildly realistic) and it makes you drive completely different. You have to drive carefully or else you risk cosmetic and mechanical damage or trashing your car all together, and get this, you actually have to pay to fix your damaged car (kind of like reality). GT3 and GT4 were revolutionary compared to other driving games but it looks like GT5 is more of the same old same old and the other driving games have gotten way better.

Crash damage isn't everything. And, honestly, with the way the GT AI uses racing lines, crash damage would be very detrimental to the game. Unless the AI will allow for aggressive passing, crash damage would likely hurt gameplay than help it, IMHO.

I am not really a fan of GT's AI. The other cars never really make mistakes and they never seem like they react to you, it just seems like they just run a pre-programmed coarse and thats it. I hate to sound like I'm pushing nfs prostreet but I like how their cars can make driving mistakes (like sliding off the track) and they also wreck into each other and they also react to you (like if you ram them or something the drive more timidly).

Anyone have any pointers on the B class race where you have to use a Integra to overtake 16 cars? I've always been pretty good at driving sims and with Traction and Active steering turned off, the best I can come in is 7th. Of course, I've only had the game 3 days - I think I tried this race 6 times - and I cant get to class A until I've finished this one.

try slipstream and wall riding, you don't have to slow down at all on that race. You can get 1st easy.

Umm, we're prob not talking about the same race - you do have to slow down, there are several not-so-sharp turns that you need to take at speeds less than the fastest you can go.
