GT is alot more realistic with their games compared to the other franchises out there IMO

That depends on whether or not they include crash damage. Like other people have said, without crash damage you can just bash into walls and other cars all day and still win races.

True thats the one thing they still havent incorporated into their games. all of the other franchises out there have started doing it. mid night club has been doing it since their first game. and forza you barely tap the wall and your wing could fly off

console franchises? maybe. GT cant really come cose to the realism of pretty much any PC racing game thats meant to be realistic .

hmm.. wonder if they're gonna have the USDM SI (if they would, i wonder if its gonna be both the FA5 and the FG2) on GT5 (not the prologue) so we can have
cockpit view.. they have it on the JDM Dc5. pretty intense imo haha

YouTube - COCKPIT VIEW JDM DC5 in Gran Turismo 5 London track

i wanna try that on the seattle track (where i think it involves running down a part of the I-5) or laguna seca.. haha this game would be the closest for some of us who want to track their cars but cant

Have you noticed in every single GT game the Honda/Acuras never have a VTEC kick? It just sounds and performs like any other engine. I think this is due to the fact that the GT guys never actually drive most of the cars in the game, the just plug a bunch of numbers into a computer.

is anyone else having a hard time beating some of the levels without the wheel? It seems like you can't get the full turning radius without it. Maybe its just me thou.

^^ I think the wheel is the only way to get feed back. Without it it's impossible to feel the car is understeering until you're out of control.

my friend has all the GTs including the prologue.. and while the graphics are much better than Forza 2 and it has the cockpit camera (which i find simply amazing).. i still think Forza 2 is better and Forza 3 is likely to improve a great bit

i think cosmetic damage is a must have on any driving sim (at least as an option), and i think their simulation damage is perfect. if you smack into something hard enough and your front bumper gets torn off.. it affects top speed and stability. if your wing gets knocked off.. you lose a lot of downforce in the back.. which hurts stability like in real life

the penalty system is better too.. either hitting another car or going off track simply results in penalty time that gets added to that lap's total time.. no throttle cut-off b.s., not to mention you suffer money penalties too for both cosmetic and mechanical damage
