Bought it back in november. (japanese version). I finished it in 2 weeks and thought i got ripped off, but i later found out they released an update with more tracks and more cars. The GTR R35 is so ******* hard to use. The car wo'nt stop properly.

I had a friend that went to hong kong and got me a copy from there. It wasn't expensive, i think with the awesome cdn rate it came up to $30 tax in compared to $35 plus tax.

And theres no more bumping out cars to get to lead. Every car you hit, you slow down for however many secs they penalty you. Also if you go out of track, you get penalized too.

I played the demo of I guess it was GT HD. They had the traction and stability control turned on for the demo. Man was that awful. Good graphics though.

I'd love to play the real game but quite frankly, these three different versions they have been coming out with, it seems kinda of lame. Have they been releasing half games so far? I haven't really understood it. Could someone explain?

I'm not to sure myself, but i think all they been doing is testing out the limits of the PS3, but this should be it, but they will have an update later on to unlock the rest of the cars

The realistic interior feature is cool

but still no damage

A racing game isn't complete IMO unless you have to option to turn around and smash into as many cars as possible head on when you get frustrated.

Prologue is because they want to get something out. Polyphony has stated that GT5, the true Gran Turismo 5, is at least a year away. Forza 2 probably pushed things along as well.

Polyphony has actually been releasing "sneak peek" Gran Turismos in Japan for a long time (GT4 Prologue and various Gran Turismo Concept games), but we've never gotten one. Probably because they figured that while a stripped down GT will sell like used panties in Japan, it's a tough sell here. But the PS3 is so starved for games right now, they could probably release a GT with one track and the R35 only, and it would turn a profit.

I had this game since december. It's a great demo and worth money if you like racing games. Online play is soooo much better than when it first came out. There is no lag at all now. Also if you pick this up you might want to get a racing wheel. I think the g25 is the best but others would say other wheel are the same. For some reason you get better lap times than using a controller.
P.S. the Amuse S2000 GTI is one of the best cars to use in the game.

Amazing.

That's all there is to it. The visuals are jaw-dropping. But I have one issue. It doesn't seem like my friend and I can't race together. WTF?!

That is all well and good but I kinda feel like they should reduce the price even more? People shouldn't have to pay for what seem to essentially be betas.

The graphics are clearly awesome, but there are a few things that irk me. For instance just watching the trailers it would seem they are using the exact same tire noise as all the other Gran Turismos which I never felt was very dynamic to begin with.

I feel it's overpriced but I bought it anyways. I don't think it should of cost more than $20.

the price of the prologue is fine. 58 cars, 6 tracks, fantastic physics, driving dynamics graphics and online play, all for $40. if this was not part of the GT series and somebody else released this game under a different name it would be hailed as a bargain. most $40 games are the crap games.

the problem is, people are mentally adding the future cost of eventually buying GT5. making it $100 total investment. see the things is that is GT5 worth a $60 upgrade? well heres the thing. we are probably going to end up seeing 50 tracks and 700 cars. which is a massive amount. thats alot of work. if you were to lets say split it up into upgrade packs like those on forza, that for $5 included 8 more cars, and 2-3 more tracks, you would go WAY past an additional $60.

i do agree that they should take off $20 discount to those who bought both though. like put a coupon in the box for $20 off GT5. only given to those who bought prologue.

also, as they develop GT5 more and more, the features are going to be added to prologue via updates. the US version is already significantly improved over the Japanese version which is 3 months old, and now the Japanese gets an update to make it the same.

If they can nail the physics in a realistic manner and refine online play I might be interested. My G25 has never seen a console.

The graphics of GT have already put Forza and the 360 by association to shame. I want to see GT give the rest of it a run for its money.
