You can stall but no grinding, unless you count a shifting into the wrong gear a grind. I don't see anyone stalling unless your at a dead spot taking off.

Oh as for grinding, I was just wondering if they simulated the nasty sound effects. Just thought stalling would be hilarious during online matches at the start of the race or something. Starting to get more and more tempted to pick up a G25...

it really comes down to if you want the clutch or not. Like I said you wont really stall. I have maybe twice after someone made me crash, other than that you wont. All races are rolling starts. With the clutch pushed in and you revs are up there you can't/won't stall. I use the clutch when going around turns to keep my rpms up and also when down shifting.

The only difference between the G25 and the GT5 wheel are that the G25 has a clutch & the H pattern and the GT5 has controls to switch your setup on the fly. Although you can program the G25 button to change your setup on the fly too.

Do we know if they use the same drive motors for the feedback?

Also, thanks for letting me know the clutch works, I had heard that it did not.

They both have the same turning radius which is 900 degrees...as for the feedback I know the G25 has two motors in them. I don't know about the GT5 wheel but my best bet is yes.

I don't think this is true, the G25 looks like a whole different wheel while the GT5 wheel (atleast it's exterior) looks exactly the same as the PRO, with an addition of the extra buttons up front. What I'm saying is, I believe the GT5 wheel is just a hopped up PRO.

the GT is a Pro with more buttons and an improved motor. its smoother and more precise, and its now as silent as the G25, although its still 1 motor unlike the 2 motor G25.

honestly get a GT or bite the bullet and get a Fanetic 911. the G25 is a waste imo.

the shifter is flimsy, it doesnt have enough buttons (2, atleast 4 are needed) and the clutch feels like mush. it looks like its got fancy hydrualic or gas springs in the pedals, but its really a normal spring inside of a plastic cylinder. pass. (holds up flame shield)

the only thing i like about it is that it has proper sized flappy paddles while the Pro, GT, and Fanatec have smallish ones.

and they all have 900 degree but thats a gimmick really.

Thats the first review of the G25 I've read. I think the clutch is pretty gimmicky, but the 900 degree rotation is implemented really well in gt5! Most of those hairpins require at least 300 degree of rotation others require the full 450. Until I can initiate a drift with the clutch, I'll pass on that.

BTW how is the quality of the H shifter? Honestly, I've been leaning toward the G25 and not the GT because I can't see myself adjusting brake distribution in mid race... I am no Michael Schumacher..

umm, if you need 300 degrees for a hairpin your taking the wrong line, go wider, or go slower.

you only need more if you want to drift.

when i use my Pro on GTR2 on the PC, i actually lock my wheel into 220 degees (i believe most non 900 wheels are 240).

the problem is that Gran Turismo, you only have a choice between 200 and 900. 200 is just too small for normal cars (though its fine for race cars, JGTC, DTM, LeMans, etc) on the PC you can choose any 1 degree from 90-900.

another problem is that there is a physical lock for 200, but only a FFB lock at any other point so if you where to set it to 240 lets say, what wuld happen is the FF motor just get reallly strong and you wouldnt actually come to a lock. maybe its improved on the GT and G25, but sometimes you cant tell if its handling grip your feeling or the steering lock.

so yeah, i use 900, but really its not needed.

I'm talking about hairpins like turn #11 on suzuka circuit, this one nearly requires all 450 degrees in 1st or 2nd.

????????????? your doing something wrong.

i found this arial of suzuka on google. if that scale in the corner is correct, a 14 foot car should be about the size of that red spot.

think in real life, how much steering you would need for a corner like that.

you should not need more than a 270 degree wheel for any road racing game unless you want to drift, and really i prefer it tighter like 220-240.

i normally take the top of the wheel to about 7-8 o'clock on that turn.

you should try one thing, turn on the driving line, go to time trial and as you approach the turn, slow to about 25-30mph. follow the suggested line exactly, and watch youll barley be turning the wheel. remember less wheel turn means more speed.

YouTube - Gran Turismo 5 Prologue + G25
skip to 2:10, that guy takes it to about 5-6o'clock but his approach is not wide enough thats why. if he had started his turn from the right side of the road he would have been able to use less turn.

I have the Logitec Driving Force wheel that came out when GT3 had been out, which I demolished that game by the way. Will Prologue support this wheel.
