I used to play for a few years. I played on the Sylph server.

However, the economy was so screwed, the gilfarmers camped all the good notorious monsters religiously, and money was incredibly difficult to make. The party system became so focused on "leet" armor and weapons that a new player who had no high level friends to give money was effectively screwed.

I loved XI, but I ultimately switched to Warcraft after I spent three months raising a chocobo, and by a glitch, was unable to ride it. The GM's said "Sorry, can't do anything about it."

That was the last time I played.

Tried it, and sadly I hated it. I am a huge FF fan, but i just simply felt lost. If i had a mic it may have been better

Yeah it really was.....I am a FF guru if there ever was one. I have played everyone to date including the NES versions. I really wanted to like the game, but without the ability to communicate (I bought it for PS2) I was lost and spent a couple hours fighting bats in a cave. I then got bored and explored a bit more, and got raped by the stronger monsters. At that point I placed the game back in its case and have never played it again.

Played that game for a good 3 years from the time it launched in the states...

Odin server. Home of LimitBreak, UnsentLimit and numerous other drama-laden linkshells.

75RNG, NIN, RDM, SAM.

I miss it. Recently reactivated for giggles, to find that my 10mil gil which used to be nothing, is now more than enough to buy whatever I want. haha.

Afaik they were the first LS to beat AV, period. Their first attempt was over 24 hours, yes. I think they finally gave up and then when they actually did beat it they were using the map cheat...

Yup. Not to mention 90% of the system is broken. Gil is too hard to make, and mad farming (which I was somewhat part of, with all the black crystals I sold in an effort to get Fruit Punches for my Monk) just didn't make it fun. Not to mention, nobody seemed to want to party with a Monk when I played. I had much more success being a Ranger and finding a party in Guild Wars...'till near the end of the first game, where Rangers were often seemingly forced to become Trappers instead. That's no fun.

Like you, I was actually also paying on my PS2. Keyboard helped, but resolution, not so much. I *want* desperately to give it another try, especially since the Dancer job class opened up, as it's apparently a pretty cool buff class. Monk w/ Dancer Support sounds fun, too bad I never even reached level 18.

Wow people still play man i rememeber I used to play a long time ago.

75 RDM/37 BLM/ 37 NIN on Ramuh

I used to be really into it, I had lots of gil and its was good for a while. But then I got sick of the constant drama within the God/Dynamis linkshells and got tired of the grind. So i quit the game like about 2 years ago.
