Unless they make a Final Fantasy VII remake (which is pretty much what people have been begging for, for YEARS), they need to stop milking Final Fantasy VII. It was a great game (not as good as VI, but very close), but they are just over-doing it now.

Advent Children was eye candy, no doubt, and it was a nice movie, but it fell quite short of my expectations, sadly. Still, I enjoyed it as a fan.

Now, remake. GO.

For PSP? Is it better than "War of the Lions"? I go that one a while back and was disappointed.

I bought CC as well, but have yet to open it up to play. I have heard a few bad things (to me) about the game.

1. Only one character to control. This is a far reach from a traditional FF game.

2. I heard it is mission based. In other words save capable basically anywhere, and mission by mission making your way through the game. Once again much different than previous FF titles.

That said I heard the graphics are amazing, and gameplay is similar to FF12. That is a good thing IMO.

Let's get some feedback from people who are playing the game.

I would like to know your thoughts on:

Gameplay?
Overall flow of the game? (linear, wide open exploration etc)
Controls?

Thanks!

Missions is an optional thing. You play through at during savepoints and unlock more as you progress through the game. I guess you get rare items when yo uiplay the missions. but the gameplay itself is actually in story-like RPG form

Story is actually not that bad. I like the gameplay better than FF12 because it is kinda a hack-n-slash sort of thing but with a mixed RPG feel to it. Yea it is a one man show, but it isn't necessarily a bad thing. Controls are easy.

Graphics are just real amazing, Advent Children Graphics on a PSP? Its over.

Gah, I hated FF12. Too much Pen and Paper RPG like for my tastes. Give me back control style like FFVIII.

I'll still end up picking this up though. I'm such a FF-tard.

I am with you I love the traditional FF controls/gameplay.....if they could simply cut down on the random battles it would be perfect IMO.

I didn't like that whole control factor for FFXII. I mean, it's cool for random battles, but when it came to boss fights, I felt that the whole thing just fell apart. It's all well and good when random battles are on, because the non player characters can do just fine...but when the bosses come...shit. LOL.

It took me 3 hours to beat that Bomb boss, for example.

As far as the AP point system, this nicely sums up my beef:

If I don't remember anything about FF7 from when I played it, will I still enjoy it?
