I played Warcraft 3, but I just don't get the whole objective of the game. Halo 2 on the XBOX was pretty tight. I would come home and fire up that XBOX and just game it up for like 6 hours straight. It was and still is my favorite game. Halo 3 is kinda wack if you ask me. So to answer your question, go with Halo 2 although I don't know the differences between the XBOX and PC.

Halo 2> All FPS imo (even halo 3). You can't go wrong with picking up that game for your PC.

agreed that Halo 2 is the superior game.... but the halo series sucks on PC, imo.

halo 2 > halo 1 > halo 3

This is good info for the OP. Let me state I am a big Halo fan, but i have never played it on PC. Therefore my opinion doesn't hold much value in this thread.

What makes it so bad on PC:
Is it the control setup?
Online features?

Well, the series was designed around the concept of a console controller, which is why it is such a great game. its not complexed and the fact that you can only carry 2 weapons works perfectly for the contorller setup. you use a toggle button instead of trying to 'scroll' through like 7 weapons. The biggest problem I ran into was tyring to come up w/ a button schema that worked as seamlessly as the controls on the console. It was impossible. I must have tried a hundred button combos and couldnt find anything that worked.

in short... game was designed for console then ported to PC... usually isnt a great combo

I hated Halo 1 on the PC. The controls were fine (when I set it to essentially waht is my CS:S controls) but the sensitivity was bad. For both Mouse and Keyboard.

The mouse wanted to act like an analog stick control, and the keyboard disallowed for the easier to use sensitivity on the controller.
