Slim PSP....displayed on your TV

Not sure if anyone cares or if you have even heard of it. The new PSP-2000"slim" allows you to play your games through the TV with a set of component cables ($19.99) If you have a TV with progressive scan technology you can play all your favorite PSP games on your TV.

I have never been a fan of portable games, but once i found out you could do this I had to try it out. The PSP has a large number of quality RPG's out that i am a huge fan (final fantasy, tactics, crisis core etc..) At any rate the games look the same as the smaller resolution on the PSP screen.

I starting using this method last night, and it certainly is much more fun than looking at a 4 inch screen.

But It looks crappier than in the 4in screen.

I tested GoW, Prince of Persia and the latest of Socom.

All three looks very badly. I know that the PSP doesn't output in HD but I was hoping in getting at least the same colors that I have on the 4in screen.

I haven't tried those games, but FF Tactics looks the same on my TV as the PSP screen.

Maybe it's your tv? I am not sure really...maybe try adjusting contract and aspect ratio's on the TV

Here you go...just make sure you have a new slim psp (series 2000), and have a progressive scan TV. The quality is amazing trust me. Crisis Core looks unreal coming from a psp handheld.

Amazon.com: PSP 2000 Component AV Cable: Video Games

has anyone else tried this? It makes playing a PSP as fun as any console system out right now IMO.

nope sorry it will not work with the old psp's. The component cable only works with psp-2000 series or the "slim" psp.

It is on the bottom left corner as you hold it up to play....opposite from the plug for the power cord for charging. It has the typical headphone style plug, but in addition has a longer norrow plug that all is plugged in at the same place. Unless he bought his PSP in the last 6-7 months he doesn't have the one he needs for this.

Sorry no pics I am at work

I dunno lol.....I can try to take pics later for those who are interested. I can honestly say I can't imagine playing games on that little tiny screen when I can plug it up to my 40in LCD and play on it

PSP Accessories - PSP to TV Component AV Cables for Sony Portable Playstation Slim / Lite / 2000 - PSPAVCABLE

This site has a good pic of what the plug looks like.

Hands-on with the new PSP - PSP Fanboy

It looks like both PSP's have the same plug, but only the Slim/PSP-2000 can play the games on the TV with the componet cabels
