im sure this has been discussed more then poop splash but im curious,thus this thread.
im about to hit 55 and was curious if anybody thought prestige was worth it? i dont think i need a cool little emblem by my name and would rather havemy guns and perks....

You are better than your guns. I prestiged and was still 2:1 k/d with the iron sight M16. At lvl 4 (which you will hit in the first two games you play) you can start setting up your classes again. I miss dead silence, and my P90, but not as much as I would miss that sweet guitar riff when you complete a challenge.

i get your point but im not a fan of the m16. love my g36c<--- i think thats whats its called) with the ACOG scope... love that thing. took a long time to get too. plus not to sure ill be playin with the hope of SOCOM comin out. but i think thatll be awhile. so iwanna enjoy playin till then. but like i said before just seein what others thought

how do you get the gold guns??? i see option for a gold draganov for me but ive complete everything for the g36c and dont see the option for it?

just stay at 55.. its dumb haha.. all i use is the m40(sniper).. m16 or m4..

since u get these guns at lvl one, i keep doing it.. haha its w/e

u have to finish all of the challenges in that category to unlock the one weapon that was selected to be in gold..
for the assault section the ak-47 is the only one that you can get gold..

kinda weird but thats what it is..

Not a big fan of the g36, even though I will often pick it up in game to replace my pistol. It makes a good backup. I hated the ironsights on it. Blech. I'm 44, 3rd prestige, and have completed the marksmanship III for every available gun except the sniper rifles. I don't like the ACOG. The lost accuracy and time to aim is not offset enough by the additional sighting distance.

My favorite kits are:

The G3 (the single shot AR)+red dot with 3x special or 3x grenades, stopping power and deep impact. I'm quick enough with the trigger to make this work close range and it's devastating at medium/long range.

P90+silencer with 3x flash, double tap, dead silence. This kit is absolutely devastating in free for all on close quarters maps. A good free for all player will listen for approaching enemies, and watch the radar. This kit takes both of those tools away. The P90's huge clip is offset by a relatively weak round (which is odd since real P90's are considered assault rifles, not smg's). After weeks of testing, I have found that more lead in the air is more effective than additional stopping power.

Was getting kinda of heavy into COD4 and enjoying the gameplay overall. I'm an average player and sometimes felt there were some cheaters on some of the servers but ASSUMED that Punk Buster would catch that stuff. Boy was I wrong. Did some reading yesterday and checked some websites concerning COD4 hacks. Depressing. No other way to say. Hacks that are undetectable by PB. Aimbots, etc that totally ruin the game for others. Go to youtube and search for COD4 hacks. Really opened my eyes but ruined the game for me at the same time. Of course this does not mean that I think everyone cheats but it's a shame knowing that it exists. I'm only up to L 18 or so and get frustrated when I can't score a bit more just to open up access to few other weapons. Might be time for me to consider joining a clan and playing on servers that are cheat free. You guys experience problems in this area at all?

if you playing on PC, you better believe there are cheaters. and punkbuster is a joke. they engineer hacks now to defeat punkbuster. i play lan games at work with my brother and few guys here and my brother ALWAYS hacks. and we use the latest punkbuster and it never catches it.

YES. this is my setup almost all the time. i love one shot kills with this setup.

the only time i use something else is on bog. i use the mp5, red dot, triple flashbang, steadyaim and deep penetration

mp5 on overgrown with silencer uav jammer and dead silence is really fun to use also.. i have the red tiger for the m16 but cant help to keep using this..unless on search and destroy i go with the g3 red dot uav jammer and extreme condioning...

I game PC only. Lot of money into my gaming rig; mostly for my racing and flying sims but also FPS games like Crysis, BioShock, MOHA and COD4. Was just disappointed to see how easy it is to hack COD4. Pay a few bucks and you can have instand head shots on the far side of the map. All the hacker sites charge a fee so it seems like a lucrative business. Sad. I have no problem admitting defeat to more skilled or sometimes luckier players but it's tough to swallow the cheats if you're trying just to have fun. Apparently good server administration can weed out some hackers. If the killcam is used, it's often easy to see who is cheating. That individual is then banned. Not just his name but his activation code. Ah, the humanity of it all.

thats why i love playing on xbox cheaters gett banned quick
