I watched a video of this game and it looks fun.I loved Mario 64 when it came out.Anyway, two things stear me clear of the Wii.First,is the controller.Second,I'm anal about my games,CD's,and DVD's getting scratches, and my experiance with the type of loading mechanism in the Wii(car stereo style)is not good.No matter how hard I've tried, the discs still get scuffs and tiny scratches.Thats why I make copys of my music CD's to play in my car.I wish the Wii had a drawer,or Gamecube style disc loader.

I picked up this game yesterday. When the intro level began I couldnt believe my eyes. The game is abosutely beautiful. Its not HD, but the graphics crystal clear and the atmosphere is awesome. The controls are incredible tight. Way better then Mario 64 and Sunshine. But the thing that has impressed me the most so far is the music and sound in this game. Simply incredible. I felt almost guilty, but music in this game is better then in any Zelda game I have played; and Im a Zelda freak. Im sure a FPS will get game of the year, but this game brings incredible new gameplay and a total package that few games can achieve. Im sure a lot of people will feel that Galaxy should be game of the year.
About the loading mechanism on the Wii. I have had no issues with this and I have owned my Wii since launch. Everything is smooth regardless if Im inserting a Wii or Gamecube disk. My friends seem to have no issues as well. NSL pick up Galaxy and enjoy one of the greatest Mario Games ever made!!!! |

The game does have some cute charater designs and colorful graphics. But this is definetly one of those games that are E for everyone. The bottom line is that the game is fun. Most of the people I know that play Mario games play FPS heavy on PC as well. Mario Party could be considerd kiddy to some degree, but a stand alone Mario game like Mario 64 is not kiddy. Its for everyone. If you know someone who has the game you should definetly give it a try. Especially if they have it set up on an HDTV and home theater. Believe me it makes a difference. Playing it on my 42" Plasma with component cables and Home Theater is completely different then trying it at your local EB Games.
This game is right up there with Super Mario 3, Mario World and Mario 64. Its that good. |

About to play Mario Galaxy right now. I still cant believe the music in this game on my Onkyo home theater. Simply amazing. |

What a great game. I just played it for about 2 hours and could have EASILY kept playing, but I need to wake up early for a haircut tomorrow. I was worried that it would be hard to control when you're upside down and all that but it's not. It's very easy and the controls are very tight. The levels are VERY impressive.. great diversity and very well made. The game really is beautiful - even on my old-school TV that's in my room.
This game will get a lot of playing time, I can tell you that much. |
