PS3 40GB Officially Announced plus 80GB Price Drop

I know there have been rumors floating around, but I guess Sony officially announced this for North America.

The entry level once isn't priced too bad considering it has a built in Blu-Ray player and comes with a free Spiderman 3 Blu-Ray. For $100 more you get all the bells and whistles plus a free game (Motorstorm).

Thats a pretty good deal. I dont plan on getting the PS3 until it becomes obselete. If they continue to make games for PS2 might as well stick with it.

i was originally planning to get a PS3 as soon as it hits the $300 mark, and i definetly want to get one before GT5 or GTA IV comes out.

the PS2 part is dissapointing, but i still have a PS2 so its not a huge deal i can bring it out anytime i really want to play.

I got my ps3 at best buy along with a HDTV which in turn gives a 100 dollars off for the PS3, so I paid 499 or something for it, and it's 60GB one that comes with 4 free blue-ray DVDs. Had it for about 2 months now, still waiting for the DVDs, and hasn't plugged the machine in for once yet. lol

I have Ninja Gaiden Sigma and will have MGS:4 before even buying a PS3...

I may pick up the 40GB now at that price. I will read the article but i hope it still has HDMI ports etc.......

yeah im hoping that i can offload a 20GB or something from someone who doesnt care and wants to upgrade.
