Halo 3 First impressions

Well I played the campaign last night for the first time . Stayed up till like 2am lol. Have a friend that works at Walmart, hooked me up... I'm having a get together this weekend to hit up some multiplayer on it so I will update this as soon as I really get a feel for her. But most of you have played the beta so you know what to expect already. All the new elements of the game really come together in the campaign, which the regen stuff and bubble shields. I'm curious to see how the other maps will be. Oh and for some reason it seemed like you can have like more than 2 people playing campaign at the same time... dunno how that is going to work but I will find out tonight

you can play up to 4 player campaign but only two per tv screen so you need to use live or system link to play 4

My first impression of the two Halo games thus far was a little something like this: "YYAAAAAAAWWWWNNNN..."

I expect the reaction to numero trois to be no different.

Honestly, the controls don't bug me at all. I play Rainbow Six: Vegas all the time (top 100 on retrieval leader boards, haha). It's just the game itself that annoys me.

I've never been into games that encourage out & out gunplay over stealth. I'd much rather think my way through a game instead of trying to blast my way through everyone.

Haha j/k, that's sweet that you got it early. I'd prolly get it just because the online play is fun, but no 360 for me.

You obviously didn't play on legendary difficulty. Try playing it that way and I'm sure you won't be yawning!

I like both types... stealth and "shoot em' up and bang bang"
I like halo more for the online action though... things can really heat up. And playing with friends is just insane... makes 4 hours feel like 30 mins

I got the game last week, and played through campaign on legendary. It's so much easier than Halo 2 because in co-op, your partner can respawn. I just hate the fact that it doesn't play in widescreen in co-op mode for some reason.

THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!
Highlight to read.

I am a hardcore Halo fan, I mean I guess you all could take a hint from my signature, avatar, user titles. I would say I was definitely enjoying Halo, right up until the end...

Here are a few reasons why...

HUMANS ARE FORUNNER, LOL ZOMG!!!
Wow, Humans are forerunner. Big surprise Bungie. No one saw that coming. Is it bad when your fans think "Hmm, Humans might be forerunner" but then think to themselves, "No, that is too obvious." I was actually expecting something more intriguing, myself and the rest of your fanbase...

343 IS LAME
343 Guilty Spark whines like a little bitch that he deserves Halo and humans don't but was more than happy to activate Halo until he realized that would ruin his little party. He already had his Halo blow up once, I think he wouldn't have too big a cow if another one blew up. He just comes out of nowhere and starts blasting fools. Little emo 343 just blows away everyone because he can't take the loss of Halo like a man. Plus activating Halo goes along with his first protocol, CONTAINMENT. Sudden change of heart or lame plot line? Infact his little spaz at the end was so unexpected, illogical, and lame that I got no satisfaction from blasting him.

JOHNSON'S DEATH IS LAME
Johnson goes out like a wuss. One quick zap from guilty and he is done. Nothing badass about it at all. I would have expected him to go down in a hail of covie gunfire all the while getting off headshots like a mad man with the sniper rifle. Nope, one quick blast and he lays down and dies. Well, I guess it was him who fired the first shot...

THE LAST LEVEL MAKES NO SENSE
If I wanted to play a game where you have to avoid falling platforms I would have gone back to my NES. It is completely illogical. Large spaced platforms with ramps perfectly set up for Warthog thrashing. Wow, is it coincidence that this part of the game requires you to use a Warthog? It sure is odd that the ship was parked at the far end of the damn veritable Warthog skate park. I realize they wanted to have one good last Warthog romp, but couldn't they have made it a little less blatant?

CORTANA TURNS OUT TO BE A FIZZ
Everyone was expecting some awesome revelation about Cortana. Nope, just some vague references about her and grave mind being one mind and no payoff, explanation, or evidence to support it later. BTW Gravemind's voice acting was so corny I felt embarassed.

HOLY SHIT CHIEF LAYS DOWN AND DIES
I was suspicious chief was gonna die and all, but jesus come on, couldn't he have died like the unbelievable badass he is? No, he just lays down in the back of a cargo hold and waits to get blown up meanwhile the Arbiter is hauling ass (after nearly getting crushed by a tank) to get in the cockpit where it is safe. Why the hell did chief not do that? (Don't try and tell me it is because the ship was accelerating too fast, Cortana could have slowed it down and plus, Chief really ought to be able to scramble up an incline considering he can flip a 50 ton tank without breaking a swear and his armor can alter it's surface friction. But even with all this, no, he decided it would be better to have a little chat with Cortana while superheated gasses are hurling his way. Run chief, get to tha cockpit!!

VERY ENDING WAS KINDA WEAK
Lord Hood tells the arbiter he can't forgive his kind, reveals Chief died, and then Arbiter shuffles off awkwardly so that he can go home. Then Bungie's little message comes up thanking you for supporting their quest for world domination. BTW, did anyone find it odd that the millions of service members that died during the war with the covenant (along with billions of civvies) get a smaller memorial that the Vietnam one? I guess they figure it is impromptu...

Anyone the game was awesome but I still have a bone to pick with the ending.

THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!

Hahaha, looks like I have some saving face to do. After having been up for almost 24 hours straight and seeing the end of the game I guess you could say I was more than grouchy about the whole thing and I think my post above shows that.

Today I texted one of my Halo friends to ask for his tag and let him know I was displeased with the ending. He immediately called me and the first question out of his mouth was "Did you watch through the end of the credits?"

DOH.

Well I gotta say I feel much better about the fate of Chief but I am still am a bit upset about the rest of it all.

So, I am wondering if there will be any more continuation of the story from now on.
