Here's a different sort of review. I think this is the most unbiased review EVER!

not only do you do more at one time on a PC FPS, but you do things faster so you keep your extra fingers held on keys.

play a PC FPS and youll understand. you ahve things to do like
-holding a walk button so that people dont hear you coming
-hold croutch so your unseen-
-keep turing a 180 and look for people coming from behind while still moving in the same direction (ie dont let your self move back because you are facing back)
-and keep switching between weapons for example a scoped rifle and pistol for sniping/close combat.

ive seen people play Halo and i hardly ever see them doing too many things at one time.

everything is so simplified for you.

its not just the pace, its everything.

the "difficult" part of a console FPS is the lousy input device. and input device should *NEVER* be the cause of why a game is difficult, it shold be the game itself.

*Edit* by the way, i just thought of these things.
with a PC, you are only able to use 2 hands with 5 fingers on the keyboard hand, and 3 fingers on the mouse hand (and this is only if you have a mouse with a thumb button, otherwise 2) for a total of 8.
on a console its 6 as you stated earlier.
HOWEVER, on a PC keyboard you need 3 fingers just to move. one resting on W, one resting on A, another resting on D, and the D finger moving to S when needed. with a console you just use the thumb on the analog stick.
thats a 2 finger advantage for the Console, so its pretty much even.
I do most of the same things in halo. The thing thats hard about consoles is hitting multiple buttons and once with only 6 fingers. Yes it is harder than a keyboard and mouse, but everyone uses the same controller to play and everyone has the same disadvantage, so its all still fair. And the people that can manipulate the controller better and have enough practice aiming and hitting multiple buttons with the same fingers can jump around and score head shots on multiple opponents easily.

but the thing is, thats my point. read the last line before the edit. a game shouldnt be about who has the longest most stretchy fingers, or how well you can overcome a clumsy controller. it should be about how fast you can aim and think, and then move around accordingly. the controller hindering you should not be an issue. your skill should be the issue. with a console everything is how fast you can get to the out of place buttons. boring.

also i really doubt you or anyone really does all that stuff
-button placement makes it pretty impossible to do it simultaneously, or even in succession quickly.
-if you were to hold the joystick all the way to the edge, it still wouldnt be fast enough to do it effectivley, do one thing for me. tell me how long it takes for you to be standing still and pressing no other buttons and doing nothing else. do a 180 and then come back.

EX: with a console FPS if you find yourself up to someones backside, you can take your time to "spray and pray" kill them because the controller makes it so hard for them to turn around. PC FPS: you better make sure you hit them in the head because they will turn around and shoot back and you instantly. see the difference in fun?

and like i said, you only use 2-3 fingers of the mouse button (i use 2 fingers to actual use, and a third to activate microphone), and you need 3 fingers just to move effecivley with a keyboard. and also it takes an extra button to change speed, not just holding the joystick less.

similarly, platform games fail on keyboard, you need a controller.

^^ I guess you are not hardcore enough about PC shooters, I use all 10 of mine fingers plus a wrist for battlefield 2142. My mouse has 6 buttons 1 for each finger except 2 for my thumbs. Then my left hand has 3 fingers for movement, 1 for crouth, and 1 for jump. That's got to be better than 6 buttons any day. So much more precise movement and aiming. I don't see how that's even, I sure plays better on PC then on Halo3.

Anyway, I beat Halo3 under heroic, but the freaking legendary is hard... You guys beat it through legendary played it with your buddies on live or single player? I tried to play it single hand, but couldn't pass the place where you see the first Covenant tank, there are just so many brutes out there to handle at once.

Oh by the way, the scene with a moutain and no credits at the end is the last scene for other than legendary ending? I played through mine, and the music just kept playing and the scene was that moutain and it changes a little angle but nothing new and no credits, so I pressed a button, and it went back to main menu... I was wondering if I missed anything...Because I didn't even see chief or cortana after the scene where they were leaving the halo.

i share fingers with things taht dont need to be done at the same time. im totally hardcore dude

EX: i dont need to fire or zoom while i switch weapons, so i can assign extra buttons on the mouse to do weapon selection wihtout needing to use extra fingers. if you count scroll up and scroll down as a button (since i map it that way) my the topside of the mouse actually has 5 buttons i can get to those 5 buttons fastest with my index and middle finger. its pointless to use any other finger on the top of the mouse, and i already get 5 functions out of it. for the side i use my thumb to handle the talk button. i still have 3 more buttons on my mouse, which are raley used. things like selecting rarley used weapon slots, which again, my thumb can handle.

on the keyboard side, i dont need to strafe left and right at the same time, so those two fingers can be used for other things as well. thats what i mean above by button placement on the contrer. button placement on keybaords and mice allow for a much higehr utilization of your fingers, but you dont actually need more fingers.

when playing FPS games the total number of buttons that a PC gamer can utilize is much higher than a controller.
but when playing other types of games, its the opposite.

bottom line: dont use a controller for FPS games. it ruins the whole thing.

Halo multiplayer is fun as hell, might not be as tactical as PC games, but the controller doesn't ruin the FPS for sure man.

I knew it! I missed the ending... Don't feel like doing it over again unless it's legendary, but then again I have no chance by myself... haha

yeah the Halo 3 multiplayer is awesome. Halo 2 was great too, just too much cheating. I don't own the game, but my friend does. I played just the other day for a few hours... only matchmaking

Make sure you watch the movie after the credits, the said movie is also different if you beat it on legendary(needed co-op for that). Its a great game, I beat it but now dont have enough time to play it.

It is not hard to beat it on legendary to get the credits scene. Just set difficulty to legendary and start from Alpha start point. You start at the point where you are driving the Warthog. That part is no harder than normal and not too long.
