Halo 3 First impressions

In a nutshell...well if i was in a nutshell all I'd need is my 360 and Halo 3

That's not true at all, most PC FPS games are so much more fast paced, reaction-based and movement oriented. FPS console games have fluffed up hit boxes and aim reticles because you have less control. You don't need to be nearly as precise as you do on the PC to make a kill. Sure it takes time to learn how to use a bulky, crippled controller, but I'd hardly shout superiority (well maybe in the console game) once you learn how to use it. You should see how my halo-fanboy friends do with a mouse and keyboard... they're sitting ducks.

Halo 1 and 2 for PC are direct console ports with reduced features. The game was never given great consideration or effort to be on the PC platform after Microsoft bought Bungie.

not to further this but I agree Anubis..I don't see how because you play a video game you can't also get girls lol. I've been playing video games my whole life and had no girl troubles yet

That's because it's going to take 2-3 years for computer's to catch up to the technology pushing Halo 3. Crysis is going to require a $3,000+ computer to look better than a $350 console.

The time has come and gone for the 360's technological advantage. Directx 10 is already beyond the 360 and Halo 3's capabilities, and its been out since Vista's release. There are people running Crysis beta smoothly with ~$1500 PC's (I could probably price one for less) and its graphically beyond anything the 360 can come close to. Halo 3 graphics are nice, but aren't that flashy, it's comparable to GoW if not worse.

I'd consider Far Cry for PC's graphics to be on par with a majority of 360 games and that game came out in Q1 2004.

I'm not hating on the console, I just bought one 5 days ago and like it. But the graphics aren't that much better than what I get with the $1000 PC (just the box) I built in early '06. Today's PC hardware will already put it to shame.

I don't totally disagree with you there, but I think if you put the best shooter from a PC game, and a best shooter from console, the PC guy will have so much advantages. The pc guy with keyboard will have 10 fingers and a wrist to use, while the console guy only uses 6 fingers. The reason why Halo is so great is because it brings the console shooter action close if not even with the PC shooters and it has all those things that will keep you coming back for more.

It's fun to play PC games with friends on internet, but I think having friends over and play on the same TV plus the chance to see how they react when they get totally destroyed is priceless.

I bet this title is going to be played for years, until maybe xbox720 and ps4 comes outs, and the TV goes UHD (ultra high defination, I made that up, hehe).

Ok.. my opinion, halo3 SUCKS. I played it last night, and to be honest, other than maps, vehicles and a few guns, the game was entirely too similiar to halo2. Halo has just become a cash-cow, they could've easily put out an update and made halo2 practically halo3.

What sucks the most about it is there are wayyyy too overpowered of guns now. I would be running around and some ******* laser would just kill me whenever i was on a guy. Too much bullshit like that ruins a game imo.
