Man i like Halo and all but its way too over hyped and shit, lastnight Spike TV had a thing on Halo 3 i was just laughing my ass off because those people in line waited 24 hours for a damn game what losers. A game that within a year or so will drop down in price. Its all about Half-Life 2 Episode 2 and portal, dont forget about blacksite area 51,darksector and of course bioshock.

You're doing it wrong!!

It is hard to say, I mean the game is pretty excellent. My complaints are really creative disagreements and not technical flaws.
I will say that I do wish they had more original music and didn't recycle as much from Halo 2. I guess the biggest problem with that is the fact Halo 1's was almost all synthesized and Halo 2 used a lot of actual orchestrated pieces, which is the same for Halo 3 so the differences will be less obvious. I will have to go back and compare the two games back to back but from what I recall I think the music for Halo 2 was better suited to the action. Also Bungie apparently still pops a big one for the Flood. I understand their role as far as the plot goes but they are not fun to fight and it seems Bungie never got this through their heads. Aside from the absolutely painstaking task of completing the level "Cortana" on Legendary (just so I can say I beat all levels on Legendary) I will never go back and play it again. That really should light up Bungie's radar that an entire level of their game is not only not fun, but it is a freaking chore. I thought they learned their lesson from "The Library" in Halo 1 but obviously I was mistaken. Bungie made such a big deal about how the Brutes in Halo 2 weren't very entertaining or fun to fight and how they set out to change that big time in Halo 3. Why the hell does it not occur to them that the Flood is 10x worse to fight and has no payoff. The best for me is yet to come. 4 player online coop is going to be an absolute blast. I can't wait to finally get one going. I played my first multiplayer matches tonight on Live and had a great time with some guys I used to play with a lot. As long as you have a clique you can play with Halo's multiplayer is fantastic. Otherwise you are going to have the long arduous task of trying to either get a crew of cool people from the vast sea of a-holes, or just run into an already good group of folks and see if you can break your way in. Halo 2 had more jack holes per capita than any other game I have ever played. |

halo rules, I don't know why some of you say it's boring and stuff. Nothing is close to the multiplayer action that it offers. I played graw2 and all, but it definately require more skills to stay alive in Halo Multiplayer than graw2. Where is the excitment when some of the mission based shooters out there you don't even get about 10 sec action before your dead or the mission is completed? If you ever call yourself a shooter fan, this is the best game out here in it's category at this time. I think shooter games that gives you a mission or let you get shot 2 times before you die should be called simulation games. Because you are simulating being a soldier or whatever, not really shooting since you don't shoot half of the times. It's all about spotting the enemy and put down your skills to beat him in a one on one action instead of getting ambushed by that same 12 years old who loves just to camp behind a corner whenever you run by. I did that in graw2, sitting in a spot and shoot those who run by, mad kills but boring as hell. Didn't last 5 mins before I started moving and tried to search out my kills instead, 5 sec later, I'm dead didn't know where the shots were coming from, probably ambushed by someone who was camping.... so boring...

Nooo !
I had a whole long post about how videogames have lost their ability for a new plot but I went back a page and lost it all ![]() Short story - I haven't played Halo since the original but I'm sure noting is phenomenally different or amazing. Sure sometimes graphics might be better, but original gameplay pwns graphics anyday! |

FPS games on consoles are just plain terrible. The closest I've come to playing a FPS on a console and not been painfully aware of how awkward it is, was Metriod on the Wii. Even that couldn't touch a keyboard/mouse combo.
And Yes, I'm a disgruntled PC gamer who is minorly bitter that most game Dev's are only concentrating on consoles and pretty much abondoning the PC market. |

well the thing is with Halo was that the controls were exceptionally well for a console FPS. which is why Halo became one of the most popular games out there in a FPS format.

Finally had some good playing time with the game. All i can say is WOW! what an amazing game IMO. I just kept saying damn when we played slayer in the remake of zanzibar (sorry don't know maps new names yet). The one from halo 2 with the windmill and camp froman. That level looks amazing with the amount of detail they put into it.
^^To the comment above I think the story mode is good.....at least so far. I think its great you can co-op with 4 buddies during the story mode now. Great game, and well worth the wait IMO. ![]() |

I like games that offer multiple ways to complete missions other than guns blazing. Games like No One Lives Forever or Perfect Dark come into mind. Perfect Dark Zero would have been a good game if it was released on Xbox as intended instead of getting delayed and put onto the Xbox360. Where it became a great game that sucked because it played/looked like an Xbox game, and 90% of the people who played it couldn't get over that fact and instead of enjoying the game they just bitched about how terrible the graphics/audio/ai because expectations were set so high since it was one of the first Xbox360 titles.

and wait another 3 years for Halo 3 for PC. I think there already is some online console games that play online with PC right? i just think playing a FPS with a controller is tough compared to a mouse and keyboard, namely Counter-Strike for PC is fun compared to the Xbox port. PC FTMFW! and id like GTA4 so id probably buy a PS3 for that game and GT5. Still PC FTMFW! |
