Just got an Xbox 360 for $60 bucks!
But the system is not working, and the wireless controller is missing the battery pack(no problem i can just buy the play and charge kit), but the reason i got it for 60 bucks is because the system has the 3 red lights so is not working right now, it does have the HDD and High definition cables and headset with it.
It looks like someone try to open the console up, i know microsoft has one sticker somewhere in the console to see if anyone has try to open the system up and void their warranty, So can some one post me a picture of this sticker or tell me where is it located? Let's suppose the console has been open, how much will microsoft charge me to fix it? i will post pictures of the system later, also the controller was painted black, well they try but turn out like crap lol. I own a PS3 so am not worry about this system, am just going to try to get it fix for free and re sell it or keep it and play some halo 3 just the first 3 months because we all know after that there will be lots of cheaters on there. |

I think there is a window on the box that has the systems serial #.I do beleive they did this to keep people from doing what you are talking about.Anyway,I thing game stuff is only exchangable, not refundable, but if it works,go for it,Wal Mart sucks anyhow.

I just call microsoft and try to get it fix by them, and i give them the serial number and they told me it was register under a name already and that i have to find out the persons name and then he will have to call them to change the registration name to me. And i don't know if the guy at work know about this or if he was the one who try to register it. So am going to have to go ebay i guess. |

Dude just do what everyone has been saying..
I used to work at Wal-mart and I saw this shit happen constantly.. Hell, we did it a few times too. All you have to do is buy a 360. Stick in the broken one in the box and tape it up. Then return the damned thing. I never returned an Xbox or ever bought one but Im not sure if there is a barcode on the actual Xbox itself. If so just take off the good one and put it on the bad. But usually products that are returned, we have to match the serial #'s from the product and the receipt. I never cared. Do it for me and everyone else that has worked at that miserable shithole.... Wal-mart is the devil! |

^^^I dont think it has been open the seal is still in one piece. but who knows.
I just call microsoft and they said the system was already register under someone elses name, so they could not do anything about it until i find out who is the one that got it register. I got it from a co-worker at work who said is his cousins, but he mention there where 2 more owners before him. so who knows. Am not about to put my self on the line for a crappy system like this(if they catch me is not going to be fun in walmart), microsoft should have know better when they made this thing. plus i only pay 60 bucks for it anyways. Am about to try the towel trick i been hearing about, and if it works good, if it messes up again am just going to brake it into millions of pices to take my stress away.(have never done that to any console i have ever had, so should be fun) I will be taking the HDD off if i do that lol. |

It's not difficult - what he does is take the blade from a box cutter and takes it out of the box cutter 'shell'. Then he gently prys the lil tape thing off of the box. If you take your time and spend a minute or two SLOWLY coaxing it off, it will come off completely intact, and not ruin the cardboard. Then slide out the xbox, slide the old one back in, tape it back up and return. Viola

Jeeez people.
Use a heatgun to heat up the seal. Lift the seal and take the new 360 out. Use the heatgun to heatup the sticker with the serial number and bar code. Swap them. Put the broken one in the box and use the heat gun to heat up the sticker seal. Seal it up, return Viola@! **I do not consent to this and anything you do is all on your judgment. I have never done this. |

Well guys, i just purchase a repair fix on ebay, total is 65 bucks on that with a 1 year warranty. + the money to ship him the system.
over all am going to end up paying around 130 for this 360, so is not as cheap as i wanted. i might as well buy halo 3 and play it, since i still have like 5 months left on my old xbox live account. Xbox gamertag:Mafia Pride add me guys. PS3 Username online:Mafia_Pride Wii code: (JustjokingIdontHaveaWii) ![]() |
