Guitar Hero III

"Guitar Hero III" was officially announced for a fall 2007 release date on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 2 and Wii consoles today. The new game will come complete with wireless guitars, boss battles, online multiplayer and more. In addition, the game will also feature a larger selection of original tracks. Presently the following songs have been confirmed

"Paint It Black" (by The Rolling Stones)
"Cherub Rock" (by Smashing Pumpkins)
"Sabotage" (by Beastie Boys)
"The Metal" (by Tenacious D)
"My Name is Jonas" (by Weezer)
"Knights of Cydonia" (by Muse)
"Rock And Roll All Nite" (as made famous by Kiss)
"School's Out" (as made famous by Alice Cooper)
"Slow Ride" (as made famous by Fog Hat)
"Cult of Personality" (by Living Colour)
"Barracuda" (as made famous by Heart)
More tracks will be revealed over the coming months, including a song from Queens Of The Stone Age.

I was so exited when I saw the song list, can't wait to see what else they throw in there. I have owned GH1 and 2 for PS2 then sold all my stuff for a 360 when they announced GH2. GH3 is looking like the best installment so far and I love how they are trying to get the actual artist for the tracks (I think they hooked up with MTV some how so that should be interesting)

You sir, are a duma$$. Everyone that keeps telling us guitar hero fans to "go out and get a real guitar" must not understand it is a GAME made to have FUN. GH is a challenge BTW, go ahead and beat the game on expert/hyper mode with your real guitar skills.

No your *** along with alot of my friends who are ******* crazy over this game... you call it a game but its a way of life for you people funny thing is 99% of the people who like it cant play a guitar... and all you guitar hero freaks always bitch about the songs on there not being good enough and why didnt they put this song on there... learn to play a real one.. and have some talent then you can play any song u want

OK, I only play the game when I have friends over and we get drunk/high as hell and have fun, IT'S A VIDEO GAME, made for HAVING FUN. I already have an instrument to play...the drums. Guitar has always been hard for me to grasp (I've tried to play, its hard) but GH is way better than air guitar any day, and you can't beat drunken co-op GH when it comes to having a good time.
I'm not trying to say not to play real instruments, but not everyone can just understand how a guitar works. It also takes tons of practice to get good at ANY instrument and alot of people just don't have the time and patience. I love music, it's a huge part of my life and I also love video games so this game about playing music is a good time for me. If you don't like it, cool, but theres no need to call me *** (although I did call you a dumba$$, I'm sorry, this topic gets me a bit fired up if you couldn't tell ) Just remember its a game.

Enjoying Guitar Hero does not require you to play the real guitar. In fact, Guitar Hero can become a gateway for people to go and learn the real guitar.

Being good at Guitar Hero DOES NOT mean you're good at guitar.( FYI - A lot of people who play GH know that)

SO RELAX. People are crazy about it, because it's fun. The kids get a kick out of it because it's so interactive with the controller and what not. It's great for a bunch of friends getting together. The songs ROCK. For guitar players, it's a cool little twist on the thing they enjoy doing.

And for the record.....

I play guitar AND Guitar Hero and I absolutely enjoy doing both. I also know a lot of people who share this same feeling.

Guitar Hero was pretty fun but I dunno I got bored of it pretty fast. The more and more time I invested into the playing the game, the more and more I kept saying to myself you know I could have figured out how to play this on a real guitar and be 100X cooler. It's a good game though, my housemate who plays alot of guitar says it does a good job of emulating a guitar.
