Until they release a game that I want to play that uses more than 20 gigs of space to run, I will stick to my 20 gigger. Unless they hack it and allow you to put a 120 gig into the 20 gig's casing... ![]() |

I think it was done to have enough storage space for their downloadable tv service for whenever it's released. Supposed to act as some kind of Tivo like with DirecTv. Either way I don't see much use for this "Elite" version, but I'm sure some people will just eat them up. The perks: Comes in Black (meh) HDMI (should have had this to begin with) 120 GB Storage (not really needed, but could be beneficial in the long run. My problem is the fact that it comes as a Microsoft only format. Unlike the PS3 which lets you use any SATA / laptop HD or even an external HD with a bigger GB capacity for a fraction of the price). No HD-DVD Player Included (is this because Blu-Ray is outselling them 3-1? Way to stand behind your product Microsoft). |

Sure it'd be nice for the consumers, but why would M$ wanna divide their sales? The only way this can be justified is if they marked up the Elite even more... But then people wouldn't buy it, would they? |

I will be getting one the day they come out, I have always wanted a black 360, and now I can get one. I am just going to keep my premium one, or give it to my brother, that way we can play game on live together like crackdown and call of duty 2. I have had my 360 for over a year now and I have never had any problems with it, and I am not upset that ms if putting a better version out. That is just part of life and there is nothing that I can do about it. Now I do understand people being upset if they bought a new 360 within the last month or so when all these rumors were going around and ms said they weren't true. Now my hd-dvd drive isn't going to match my 360 exterior, but oh well.

The Xbox 360 Elite w/ 120G and HDMI are very interesting options, but the current Xbox 360 w/ HD add-on still fit my needs. I don't need 120G. I use the Xbox 360 w/ HD add-on for movies only. The component video is as good as HDMI on my display.
One thing I would like to have in the Xbox 360 Elite is the black case. It would match the rest of my black deco..! In my opinions, buy whatever fit your needs and enjoy it. There is always a news version down the road..! Xbox 360 Elit |

I guess the whole "Elite" thing would be better IMO if it had everything included including the HD-DVD player capabilities. I don't think they would cut into their sales too much as owners of the previous Xbox 360 systems would still need the Add-On to play HD-DVD movies. The 120 GB could be added on separetely, but I didn't think the HDMI cables could be purchased as you would need the HDMI output from the Xbox 360 itself (I could be wrong though). As for dividing their sales that seems exactly to be what Microsoft (and Sony for that matter) seem to be doing with the "core" "premium" and now "elite" systems. The core system should just be retired. |

If or when they switch over to the 65 nm chip then I'll consider getting one as I'm on my 3rd Xbox 360 now due to the "Ring of Death". From what I understand the 65 nm chip would run cooler and more also more quieter than the current 90 nm chip. Throw in the 65 nm chip and a cheaper Wi-Fi option (preferably built in as I dont want to drop another $100 for the Wireless Adapter) and I'd gladly buy another Xbox 360 for my gameroom and move my current one to the family room. I understand it would cost more, but then it would be more along the lines of what I would expect a true "Elite" console to be (plus I can place my Halo 3 Helmet when it comes out next to it). |

i have one reason that they might of held out on it coming back when the premium was release as far as HDMI goes, because there is a new HDMI version coming out that is not fully released as of yet that i know it. the PS3 has it and as well as the new Blue ray DVD players but no HDTV's as of yet,b but its HDMI Version 1.3.
So thats why they might of held out on equipping the premium versions of the 360's heres the link http://www.hdmi.org/press/pr/pr_20060622.asp |
