I've been lucky. I got mine two months after launch day and it's still going strong. I've had it show me all the rings of death...one light, two, three, and four. Three is system failure/error and guess what bishes? It's still working. I finally had to buy a new controller but other than that, mine's a warrior.

Awesome, have to shell out 100 dollars to fix the problem.
I'm so pissed off right now it's not even funny. My original xbox failed after like 2 years and I had to buy another one. Now this? After a year? What a JOKE. Absolute joke. 33% of 360's fail. How can you put out a product that sucks and not cover it when it fails? Man, I'm pissed off. |

Just sent this message to Xbox's support team -
I received an Xbox 360 Pro for Christmas last year. In the past few months, I'd say it started around October, I would get disc dirty errors and it would cut out in the middle of gaming. If I turned the system off and back on, it was fine. I received Fifa 2008 for Christmas this past year and the game wouldn't work - after five minutes of playing it would cut out with the disc dirty error. I figured it was the disc, so I exchanged it for a new one. The new one worked fine, but then when playing Call of Duty 4 I would get the same disc dirty error. Fast forward to about two weeks ago - I turned on my tv and fired up the 360 and all I got was a black screen with squiggly lines running all over. I had sound, but no video. I figured it was the tv, because it's probably about 20 years old. I disconnected the box and moved it into another room, on another tv. Same problem. I then went out and purchased a new component cable, thinking this would solve the problem. It did not. I still have audio, but no video. My original Xbox had to be replaced after 2 years of owning it because of the dirty disc error. I ended up having to shell out another 250 dollars for that because it wasn't covered. I really enjoy using the Xbox 360, as I think it's a great system. I've been a Live member for a few years and have invested a lot of money into the Xbox and Xbox 360. I am aware of the 1 year warranty on the 360, unless you have the circle of red rings. I do not have the red rings. I'd like to continue to support the 360, as it's a great system and I have even gotten a few of my friends to pick one up after they saw how much fun Live is. The only thing that's disappointing is how they're prone to failure after only a couple years. I'm a student whom works full time as well, and it's hard to shell out a few hundred dollars for a system that's only a year old. I would love some information on anything you could do, or even I could do, to get my 360 working again. I really appreciate the time you took to read this message, and I hope I will be able to pass on the message to friends that you guys really have your act together and take care of the very people that keep you guys in business. Thank you, Kurt ________ Trpn2dmb@gmail.com |

The irony of my post above yours (up towards top) about how mine is a warrior...yeah it's at the repair center now in Texas. I got the E 74 Error (hardware failure). They should give me a free Elite or something. I have a FIRST gen 360. Never had problems until two weeks ago when it finally decided to crap on itself. But, hell, I've had it for three years. |
