well i am going out today to look around tulsa and see if anyone has the elite on shelves. i have read online that if target or kmart have it out they will sell it, but walmart's systems will tell them not to sell it yet. it is worth a try

have no problems so far, had both ps3 and x360 but i end up returning ps3 cause theyre loosing lots of their games to xbox. for ex, gran theft auto 4, ffx11 and other games. BTW the main reason why i kept x360 is because of online gaming. I know u do pay for xbox live but its definitely worth the money.

well i wasn't able to find an elite the other day, but i just nabbed a pre-order from circuitcity.com. I am still going to try and find one this sunday, but if I can't I know I will have the pre-order to fall back on.

just a few words about the 360, free flash mod.... now i have every game made for it. cost about 3 dollars per game to reproduce them and with printable dvd's now, they look just like the originals! :)

^ But you most likely lose the ability to play those games on XBL? That's the only reason why I play my 360.

Actually if you have part of the 1st gen xbox 360s (first year made) you can mod them and still play on XBL. They do not have anyway to tell yet. It's crazy right?

It's not like the old school xbox's that ban your mac addresses. I know several of my friends who play on xbl for the last year on their 360.

i ve used it on live before, but I prefer not to use that so much. Microsoft is implementing a way to crash the boxes through xbox live updates. I'm trying to get my hands on an elite... I ll have no need to mod the elite since i have the old one.

UPDATE 10-20-07:

Whew I'm glad I went back to best buy the following day and bought the warranty on it...I had a feeling that my 360 would start sh!tting bricks...and it started to not read any games and randomly freezing on me the past few weeks during game play...So I called them up today and I should be getting a new one soon ...

That's impressive with me because if I'm playing fight night or something and I need to go run arrands, I just leave the game paused and turn off the controller. Come back 3-4 hours later and it's still running just fine. I play it for another couple of hours and still no problems.
See I can't do that...even if I leave it for 1/2 hour running I come back and it freezes on me...I guess I got a lemon...

Yeah well, mine never had a single problem until I installed the Forza2 update.. That fried my graphics processor. I sent it in and had it replaced (for free) and they sent me a bunk console that broke within weeks. Now I've got another one and it hasn't given me a single problem yet.

At least you didn't have to deal with the dumb (nicest way I can put it) automated thing that 1800 4my xbox has set up. It's like microsoft decided they were going to try to be hip while making an automated response.. I hate that guy.
"Okay, I can help you with that!!"
You're and inanimate object you deceitful bastard, quit playing with my emotions.

aaaaaand that's a firmhonda mini rant.

PS3 VS Xbox360

That would be a more appropriate thread for you to post that up in then. There's nothing wrong with having a preference for one over the other, that's what opinions are for, right? I personally think that the difference in cost does not justify in any way the "advantages" that a ps3 has over a 360.. Especially since I'm seriously not a fan of bluray. Buuuut the rest of that argument has already been made at the thread that I linked to above. Feel free to contribute to that thread and vote.

I ended up not buying the warranty b/c I figured they just get that extra money from people....so my question is how long have you guys had your consoles and has it ever given anyone problems? stopped working? etc...all responses would be appreciated...thanks in advance...
i have had mine since the console came out. and never had any problems with it. what you need to do is lay it down on the side and put it on a hard surface. thats the best for it. people just dont take good care of there systems thats why they have to send it in. plus if you get it at game stop they have to ask you i know that cuz thats were i work. haha
