+1...but that's minor with today's auto-save games. NO other problems luckily. I got mine the 2nd day it came out, paid $450, and had it delivered to my work. Good stuff.

I want to add my endorsement of buying things like this at Costco. Not only do you get more for your money with the packages, but you have the peice of mind of knowing you can return it. I bought my 360 there and am about to return it For some reason, the little door that hides the USB connections wont return shut. Minor, but it bugs the crap outta me.

I got mine at the Zero Hour event. It got replaced free once by Microsoft, but I have been REALLY happy with it. Zune 360 integration will be cool..

My sister got her 360 the day they came out a year ago (so obviously the first batch). She got it without the warranty since she lives in San Diego and she was here in Houston when they came out. It's still going strong with no problems. Her and her husband always take very good care of their electronics though.

I ended up not buying the warranty b/c I figured they just get that extra money from people....so my question is how long have you guys had your consoles and has it ever given anyone problems? stopped working? etc...all responses would be appreciated...thanks in advance...
did you buy the core or premium system? and where did you go? EB or GameStop? I used to work at EB as an Assistant Manager and It's something we've always tried to push on. I'm on my first system and I got the first core system that came through our store. I've had absolutly no problems whatsoever. I've seen people who buy the premium system have more issues than anything.

Xbox: If you're memory gets a little full after some time of use, nothing wants to play. I had this issue and cured it by erasing everything

PS2: has issues with the readers going out. Which basically keeps it from playing anything with DVD format on it

Xbox360: Gets the Ring of Death which is where the circle for the controllers light up. Instead of lighting up green it lights and flashes red. Basically your screwed unless you have a warranty

I have the Intercooler on my 360 and it works wonderful. Much more responsive now. 19.99 at most stores

I haven't heard anything yet on PS3. I imagine they're gonna have a ton of issues with Blue Ray considering this is the first time it's been used in a video game system.

Just a little FIY

Update on my Xbox 360 - purchased in late September, broken as of 2 weeks ago. I bought a new game and the game read as a DVD nearly every time I tried to play it right out of the box. If you restart the machine, it would read correctly.

I exchanged the game for a new disc...no change. Now it's happened on one other game and the unit has frozen a few times. I can't exchange the console with BB since it's over 30 days since I purchased it and the customer service people wouldn't make an exception.

So, I sent the unit back to Microsoft today for a warranty repair...

As for my PS2, I bought mine on release week and it's still functioning 100%, no issues!

My Chipped PS2 has a horizontally rolling screen. I am not sure it is repairable.

This is the biggest pos console on the planet. Purchased mine Oct 1st and it broke on me on Nov 17th. After hours of speaking to foreign call centers with the biggest idiots on the planet, the finally agreed to fix my console instead of sending me a refurb. MSFT has big problems with this console. They will be facing a class action lawsuit in no time over this.

http://www.consumeraffairs.com/home_...nics/xbox.html

I am pissed because I doubt this system will be able to handle Halo 3. I play golf with the CTO of Western Digital and they know all about MSFT's problems. You cannot put the disk drive over the cpu and expect everything to be fine. Big problems loom ahead at MSFT. Let's put it this way. The 360 is like an Alienware pc shoved into a box it's not made for. MSFT really ****** themselves on this one.

Go to the XBOX forums and see for yourselves.

mine is from the launch batch, zero problems for me. Even if anything happens to it microsoft will fix it for free cuz it was made in 2005, and then cover it for an additional year after that, so i am not concerned.
